The four of them stepped into the house. Ruan Anmu followed closely behind Ruan Fuxi, introducing her to the surroundings.
"This room was the master bedroom where Mom and Dad used to live. The adjacent room was my bedroom, and there’s also a study."
Ruan Fuxi began her inspection from the master bedroom, moving through to the study, but she found nothing unusual. Ruan Anmu trailed behind her, frowning slightly.
Many of their parents' belongings had been replaced. Moreover, the house was not well-maintained; visible patches of peeling paint marred the walls. A wave of anger surged within Ruan Anmu. This was her parents' house, her childhood home, and it had been tarnished by the He family. They were utterly unworthy of living here.
Feeling frustrated, she noticed that Ruan Fuxi had stopped walking and asked with concern, "Xixi, don’t you notice anything?"
Ruan Fuxi shook her head. She felt that something was off about the study but couldn’t quite put her finger on it. So she decided to step inside again.
As Ruan Anmu looked at the once tidy study now turned into a chaotic storage room, her heart ached anew. Their parents had loved spending time together in that study; if they knew it had become a dumping ground, they would surely be heartbroken.
Ruan Fuxi inquired curiously, "What did Mom and Dad like to do in the study?"
Ruan Anmu shook her head in response. "I don’t know. They often kept the door closed, so I never disturbed them. But I remember there weren’t many books in there; they would spend hours inside."
She too felt puzzled by this memory.
Suddenly, an idea struck Ruan Fuxi, and she asked, "What if..."
"Anmu, do you still remember the layout of the study?"
Ruan Anmu pondered for a moment before nodding. "I remember."
She pointed to a specific area and said, "Over here was a bookshelf, and there used to be a clock hanging on the wall, which is now gone. Opposite it were several chairs, and in the middle, there was a tea table."
As Ruan Anmu described the room, Ruan Fuxi's eyes brightened as she looked at the places Anmu was indicating. She understood now!
A smile appeared in Ruan Fuxi's eyes. So that was it. This study had a formation.
If it weren't for Anmu's description, she wouldn't have known how long it would take her to discover this on her own. It seemed that the original owner's parents had considerable skill in formations; they were certainly capable of laying down such a sophisticated array.
Ruan Fuxi stepped forward and immediately felt something unusual. The flow of air in the study had a unique rhythm, constantly shifting and changing. Following this pattern, a complex design began to materialize before her eyes.
She focused intently on sensing the direction of the wind in the air and soon noticed several areas with energy fluctuations. This was the basic structure of the formation.
With these connections in mind, breaking the formation became much less daunting. Ruan Fuxi located the core of the formation and unleashed a surge of spiritual energy towards it.
The formation shattered.
Nothing happened, and Ruan Fuxi frowned. This shouldn't be right.
Beside her, Sheng Fuxi thought for a moment before speaking up. "Xiao Xi, this might be an inner formation within the main one."
Hearing his words, Ruan Fuxi's eyes lit up once more.
