He woke up early that morning with a twitch in his eyelid, and sure enough, it was a sign.
The house was meticulously arranged by Ruan Changlin, and for many years, their family had lived comfortably there. Since they had already moved in, they had no intention of moving out again.
Ruan Anmu wasn’t afraid of him at all. She coldly said, “This is originally my parents' house. If you don’t move out, I’ll go to the housing authority. The title is in my parents' names. Even if they have passed away, I, as their daughter, inherit their property. You have no claim to it.”
He Ming was just a thug without much education, and upon hearing this, he stepped forward to teach Ruan Anmu a lesson. But when he saw Fu Sihan standing next to her and the tall Sheng Yanzhou beside him, he hesitated. He felt he wouldn’t be able to win.
Ruan Anmu continued, “You can either move out on your own or I’ll force you out. Think it over.”
He Ming rolled up his sleeves, his face flushed with anger. “You little brat! How dare you speak to me like that and try to kick me out? What power do you have?”
Yet, he ultimately didn’t dare to hit her.
Ruan Fuxi’s gaze fell on He Lianhua. Ruan Anmu caught her hint and turned to He Lianhua standing nearby. “Aside from the house that my uncle took, there are also my parents' assets left behind, especially some jewelry that my mother collected—those were taken by you, Aunt.”
Ruan Anmu remembered it clearly.
He Lianhua shouted loudly with her hands on her hips, “What evidence do you have that I took anything? Your dead parents left nothing behind!”
Ruan Anmu's expression turned cold as her gaze landed on the gold rose necklace around He Lianhua's neck. “The necklace you’re wearing is my mother’s. It was a gift from my father for her birthday. If you don’t return it, I’ll report it to the police and say you’ve occupied my parents’ inheritance.”
Upon hearing this, He Lianhua quickly hid the necklace beneath her clothing. But when she heard Ruan Anmu mention calling the police, she ultimately fell silent.
Having taken so much from them, neither of them wanted to return it just like that.
As her eyes darted around, she decided to play the emotional card. However, before she could utter a word, Ruan Anmu cut her off. There was no need for old grievances or pleas; it was simply not an option.
He Ming, witnessing her arrogance, could no longer hold back. Rolling up his sleeves, he strode toward Ruan Anmu, ready to confront her. "You little brat, you think you can disrespect me and get away with it?"
But before he could get close, several police officers walked in from outside. "Stop right there!"
He Ming and He Lianhua's faces turned pale at the sight of the officers; fear gripped them. Ruan Anmu, however, was unfazed and even chuckled. "I knew my uncle and aunt wouldn't cooperate with me, so I called the police in advance. Thank goodness for Xiao Xi's reminder; otherwise, we would have wasted a lot of time."
She then pointed at the two of them and addressed the police. "They have occupied my parents' house and the property left to me. I have evidence to prove it."
The two were taken away for questioning. He Ming's wife revealed her true colors as she glared at Ruan Anmu with resentment. "You’re ruthless!"
Ruan Anmu simply replied with two words: "Move out."
He Ming's son was away in another city, leaving only the couple in the house. Knowing she had no leverage over Ruan Anmu and realizing that throwing a tantrum would be futile, He Ming's wife immediately called someone to load all her belongings into a truck.
With the He family gone, Ruan Fuxi began searching the house for anything left behind by her original parents.
