Ruan Fuxi listened to him, her expression serious as she sat down on the sofa.
“Dad, can you tell me more about it?”
Ruan Jili shook his head. “I only know this much. After all, the main branch and the branch have not been in contact for over two hundred years. If he hadn’t heard about it when he was a child, he probably wouldn’t know anything at all.”
Not willing to give up, Ruan Fuxi asked again, “Dad, is there any record of this in our family tree?”
Ruan Jili shook his head once more. “No, the family trees of the main branch and the branch have been separated; there’s no way to check.”
Ruan Fuxi thought for a moment and then asked, “Do you know if the main branch has any metaphysical sects? What are they called?”
Ruan Jili pondered seriously for a moment. “I’ve heard your great-grandfather mention it before; it’s called the Baishan Sect.” He then sighed. “I’ve heard that the people from the Ruan family’s main branch are all metaphysical geniuses, but after so many years, I don’t know how many are still around. Your great-grandfather said that the reason for the split between the main branch and the branch was due to a decline in those who entered the metaphysical path, leading to unexpected incidents. If the entire family had continued practicing metaphysics, who knows...”
Ruan Fuxi was stunned.
“Baishan Sect? Isn’t that the sect where the evil cultivator Yuan Tian, whom I killed, belonged?”
Now it seemed that her family was most likely affected by the Ruan family's main branch. She wondered what the current situation of that main branch was and whether there were still people in Baishan Sect.
For this reason alone, Ruan Fuxi would have to visit Baishan Sect sooner or later.
“I understand, Dad. I will look into it.”
Ruan Jili nodded in response.
"Don't worry too much about home now that school has started; we'll take care of things," said Ruan Fuxi as she nodded and headed upstairs.
She had quite a few matters to attend to in the coming days. First, she needed to set up formations for the Ruan family. Second, with the school year approaching, she planned to pay respects to her biological father. Ruan Anmu was studying in the capital, while she was still in the city; if she didn't go to pay her respects this time, she'd have to wait several months.
Another task on her list was to repair the Star Disk, which would make communication with the heavens much easier. Ever since she had sent away the book traveler and the reincarnator, Ruan Fuxi had been trying to communicate with the heavens but had received no response. She would still need the Star Disk's assistance.
Ruan Fuxi rummaged through the refining materials she currently had on hand and found only a piece of turmeric crystal. However, Xuan Ye, out of gratitude and guilt, had taken out some of his treasured possessions from over the years, including the Celestial Water and Time-Space Sand needed for repairing the Star Disk. These two materials were incredibly rare in this world; without Xuan Ye's help, it would have taken her a long time to gather them.
Now that she thought about it, she was still missing two crucial materials: Star Shining Stone and Star Silver. Ruan Fuxi sighed; in this world, she was still too poor. If she were in the cultivation realm with all of Luyan Zhou's wealth, she would be a low-key millionaire. It shouldn't be this difficult to find refining materials.
Beside her, Gui Gui appeared somewhat conflicted. Noticing this, Ruan Fuxi smiled and asked, "Gui Gui, do you have any treasures?"
Her smile was as mischievous as a wolf ready to lure its prey. After a moment of hesitation, Gui Gui thought about the nourishing pills he had consumed recently and his rising cultivation level before finally saying, "I have a Star Shining Stone; I'll give it to you."
