Yu Qi was left with no more confusion. The reason Huang Jian had been so cold towards her these past few days was undoubtedly because he had found Ruan Fu Xi and discovered the talisman she had placed in his phone case.
Feeling a wave of guilt, Yu Qi decided to make a run for it while Huang Jian was talking to Ruan Fu Xi. She knew that Huang Jian would never let her go easily.
Ruan Fu Xi glanced at her with a faint smile and said to Huang Jian, "A portion of your fortune still resides with Miss Yu. You don’t need to do anything; just ensure that both of you are present."
Huang Jian's gaze fell on Yu Qi, who was trying to escape, and he swiftly grabbed her. Just as she was about to say something, Huang Jian struck her neck with a swift motion, rendering her unconscious.
Huang Jian said, "Master Ruan, how about this?"
Ruan Fu Xi observed his rough and straightforward approach and nodded, "That works. You can let her go now and then sit down with your eyes closed."
Huang Jian complied.
Ruan Fu Xi took out a talisman for fortune transfer, forming hand seals as the talisman floated into the air, hovering between Huang Jian and Yu Qi.
A faint white thread, barely visible to the naked eye, drifted from Yu Qi's body, passed through the talisman in midair, and returned to Huang Jian's body.
After a moment, Ruan Fu Xi lowered her hands, and the talisman dimmed before turning to dust in the air.
Huang Jian had reclaimed his fortune.
"That's it," Ruan Fu Xi said.
Huang Jian felt a rush of clarity and lightness wash over him as he opened his eyes and stood up, a smile spreading across his face.
"Master Ruan, I can't thank you enough this time!"
He then promptly transferred two million over to her.
Ruan Fu Xi replied, "Although you've regained some of your fortune, there is still a loss. Remember to do more good deeds in the future." With that, she walked out.
Huang Jian quickly nodded.
"Master Ruan, don't worry, I've remembered everything."
Not long after Ruan Fuxi left, Yu Qi woke up. As soon as she opened her eyes, she saw Huang Jian's expressionless face.
A look of obvious panic crossed her face.
"Brother Huang..."
Huang Jian raised his hand to interrupt her.
"Don't call me Brother Huang. Back then, I thought you were pure and lovely, but I ended up taking a huge fall. I provided for you, gave you money, and yet you weren't satisfied. You even tried to harm me; you've got some nerve."
The more he spoke, the angrier he became, and he slapped her hard across the face.
"I just did the math; I've lost at least a few million because of you. You better pay me back quickly, or you know what kind of person I am and what methods I have."
Yu Qi was genuinely scared and cried out,
"Brother Huang, I really know I've made a mistake. I'll definitely listen to you from now on."
Huang Jian scoffed,
"Get lost. If you don't pay me back within a month, you won't want to know the consequences."
He then kicked Yu Qi out of the house.
"What a troublesome thing."
After returning to the Ruan family, Ruan Fuxi thought about the feng shui arrangement set by Yuan Tianbu and still felt puzzled.
The Ruan family were all ordinary people; they shouldn't have any connection with metaphysical practitioners.
What could be the reason for someone to issue a bounty against the Ruan family in the Ghost Market's Knowledge Building?
Had they offended someone?
Or perhaps the Ruan family had been implicated by someone else?
