"Ancestor, you will save me, right? I just need to wait to go back, right?"
Ruan Fuxi shook her head. "No, I'm busy right now and don't have time for you."
Gong Changle, feeling scared, dropped to his knees. "What about my dad and me?"
"Don't worry, you won't die today. I'll come find you tomorrow," Ruan Fuxi replied.
"Ah?"
But he was truly anxious! Gong Changle looked at Ruan Fuxi, who seemed preoccupied, and didn't dare to disturb her. Instead, he could only bite his teeth in frustration, tears welling up as he waved his handkerchief.
"Ancestor, I'm waiting for you. You must remember to save me and my dad!" He nearly cried out loud.
Ruan Fuxi's eyelid twitched. "Alright, I remember."
Only then did Gong Changle step aside.
Ruan Fuxi had been delayed by him for a moment, and now she could hardly sense the lingering aura left by the evil cultivator. However, Xuan Ye was more powerful than she was. After consulting with him, Ruan Fuxi chased after him again.
After leaving the Ruan family, Yuan Tian suddenly felt a sense of panic rising within him. Cultivators often had an accurate sixth sense, and Yuan Tian's expression darkened as he couldn't help but quicken his pace. He knew he must be in trouble.
At this moment, Ruan Fuxi concealed her presence and aura, following him all the way to his residence. Yuan Tian's unease grew stronger; he quickly packed his belongings and prepared to leave the capital city, putting aside thoughts of his nephew and any trouble with Ruan Fuxi.
But it was too late.
"Where are you planning to go?"
Ruan Fuxi revealed herself and spoke up.
Yuan Tian turned to her sharply, his expression darkening. He had not realized that someone had been following him all along. She was stronger than he was!
"You are Ruan Fuxi."
Ruan Fuxi nodded. "That's right, it's me. Now tell me, what were you sneaking around my house for?"
Yuan Tian's eyes flickered before he replied amicably, "I heard that Daoist Ruan is young yet possesses profound cultivation. Out of curiosity, I wanted to meet you. I assure you, I mean no harm."
Ruan Fuxi nodded again. "So, why did you run away?"
She didn't believe a word he said; did he really think she was that easy to fool?
Yuan Tian continued his feigned innocence, "I only realized how presumptuous I was when I reached your doorstep and found I hadn't brought a gift, so I decided to leave."
Ruan Fuxi nodded once more. Yuan Tian thought she believed him, but soon his expression changed.
"Did you have a hand in the Gong family's affairs?"
Yuan Tian narrowed his eyes and fell silent.
Ruan Fuxi continued, "You came to find me because you want something from me."
Yuan Tian put on a disapproving look. "Why would you think that? We are both members of the Xuanmen; we should support each other."
Ruan Fuxi smiled.
Yuan Tian let out a sigh of relief, and Ruan Fu Xi asked him, "Oh, I see. Which sect do you belong to?"
Feeling even more relaxed, Yuan Tian pretended to be nonchalant as he replied, "I am a disciple of the Mountain Sect."
Ruan Fu Xi then casually remarked, "So you're from the evil sect of the Mountain Sect."
Yuan Tian's expression changed dramatically. "You figured it out long ago! You're trying to trick me!" How could she possibly see through his disguise?
Ruan Fu Xi sneered coldly, not bothering to say another word before launching an attack. "What are you pretending for? Do you think that hiding will make your evil aura go unnoticed? With so much karma stained on you, it seems many innocent lives have fallen at your hands."
With that, Ruan Fu Xi unleashed a surge of spiritual energy toward him.
