Yuan Tian pondered the name, Ruan Fuxi, with a look of confusion on his face.
Qi Hui nodded vigorously. "That's right, it must be Ruan Fuxi! She revealed in the broadcast that Gong Changle is not her biological brother, and she must have realized that Changshun isn’t his real brother either. It’s definitely because Ruan Fuxi told him this, and then he informed Gong Le."
She grew more certain as she spoke, her face filled with resentment. "The reason Changshun and I have ended up like this is all because of Ruan Fuxi. If she hadn’t blurted out those things in the broadcast, none of this would have happened. She wouldn’t have gotten hurt while looking for Lu Manyun, and she certainly wouldn’t have been left with nothing."
Yuan Tian finally recalled who Ruan Fuxi was. She had stolen his turmeric crystal and had the audacity to tell Gong Le that she would shut down her broadcast. He had thought she was just a minor scammer dabbling in fortune-telling online, but unexpectedly, she had ruined his nephew's prospects.
Yuan Tian shared a deep bond with his elder brother, who had already passed away; he couldn’t just ignore his nephew’s plight. So he nodded and said, "I understand the situation. What do you want to do?"
Qi Hui gritted her teeth, her expression fierce. "I want Ruan Fuxi to pay the price. I want the Gong family to suffer; I want Changshun to inherit the Gong family's fortune rightfully."
Yuan Tian continued to nod. "Leave this matter to me."
Then Qi Hui expressed her concern, "What if Changshun and that unfortunate Gong Changle have their fates swapped? What if Gong Changle seeks out Ruan Fuxi to change their destinies?"
Yuan Tian smirked confidently and replied:
"Don't worry, I'll handle it myself. No one else is allowed to intervene."
Qi Hui knew that her little uncle was serious, and hearing him say this put her at ease. If it weren't for the fact that her little uncle recognized Gong Le's promising fortune, predicting a future of wealth and prosperity, she wouldn't have gone to such lengths to marry him.
She then gestured to Gong Changshun, saying, "You should thank your little uncle."
"Thank you, Little Uncle," Gong Changshun replied.
Since Yuan Tian had already promised Qi Hui, he didn't linger any longer. He happened to be in the capital city at the moment, and once he resolved the issues with the Gong family and that Ruan Fuxi, he could finally feel at ease to meet his master.
Meanwhile, Gong Le had found his eldest son. His expression was complex, filled with guilt. After a long sigh, he said, "This is all my fault. I trusted the wrong people."
Gong Changle noticed his father's demeanor and felt a bit uncomfortable. He casually threw his legs over the table and said, "Dad, this is all thanks to our ancestors. If it weren't for her reminder, you'd still be kept in the dark by Qi Hui and would end up raising someone else's son for a lifetime. And you even sealed off our ancestral hall."
Gong Le felt helpless. "Can you please speak properly? Now's not the time to poke at your father's wounds."
When Changle's mother passed away, his career was just starting out; he hadn't yet built such a large enterprise. At that time, he had to juggle work while also taking care of Changle, which left him utterly exhausted.
He had gone through more than ten nannies without success until finally, Qi Hui, a close friend of his late wife, came to help care for Changle. She was attentive and patient, treating Changle as if he were her own son. It was because of her dedication that he felt secure.
That was how he ended up with Qi Hui. But who would have thought she was looking for someone to take over her responsibilities?
Not long after Qi Hui arrived at their home, he met Master Tianyuan. The master warned him that Changle's fate was unfavorable—he was a star of misfortune and had already caused the death of his biological mother. If Gong Le became too close to Changle, he too would suffer misfortune; not only would his health deteriorate but his career would also decline.
At first, he didn't believe it; how could he not be close to his own son?
