Both Guan Yan and Qi Hui were sent to the hospital after the incident. At this moment, Gong Changle was anxiously waiting for the results of the urgent paternity test. Once he received the results, he headed straight to his father's office.
Upon entering, Gong Changle slammed the results down on his father's desk. Gong Le was in the midst of a chaotic situation regarding the acquisition of Sheng Yanzhou's company when he noticed his son's sudden arrival.
"What is this?" he asked, puzzled.
Gong Changle raised his chin defiantly. "Open it and you'll find out."
Although Gong Le couldn't get close to this son, he didn't intend to chase him away now that he was here. He picked up the paternity test results from the desk.
As he opened it, Gong Le's expression instantly turned cold.
A paternity test! Not only did it include him and his eldest son, but also his second son. It showed that there was a biological relationship between him and Gong Changle, but it did not support a relationship between him and his second son, Gong Changshun.
Gong Le didn't want to believe the results; he couldn't accept that his wife Qi Hui had betrayed him. He even wondered if there had been a mix-up at the hospital when Qi Hui gave birth.
However, the report clearly stated that there was a biological relationship between Qi Hui and Gong Changshun.
Gong Le's face darkened, his expression so grim it seemed like it could drip water. He turned to his eldest son and asked, "Are these results reliable?"
Gong Changle slammed several different paternity test reports from various institutions onto the table. "They're very reliable; all the results are the same. If you don’t believe me, just go find another hospital for a test."
Gong Le took a deep breath to steady himself. Just then, he received a call from Qi Hui at the hospital. Her voice on the other end was soft and weak, laced with regret.
"I'm really sorry. Today, when I met Ruan Fuxi's mother, Lu Manyun, I encountered someone who attacked me on the street. I accidentally got hurt and I'm currently in the hospital. I couldn't get Lu Manyun to agree to our request. I'm so useless."
At this moment, Gong Le still held the appraisal results in his hand, his heart filled with anger, yet his tone remained as calm as ever.
"This isn't your fault. You should rest in the hospital. I'll come to see you when I have time."
Without waiting for Qi Hui to say anything further, he hung up the phone.
He turned to Gong Changle and said, "Dad knows. Don't mention the appraisal for now; I have my own plans."
Gong Changle nodded and then left the office in a good mood, whistling as he walked.
He felt genuinely happy.
He knew his dad would be worried and would likely seek out other hospitals and institutions for verification.
But unfortunately, the results wouldn't change at all.
Qi Hui had truly put a massive green hat on his father.
And it seemed she had been doing so for over twenty years.
As Gong Changle thought about this, he couldn't help but feel a bit sorry for his dad.
What a pity.
After Gong Changle left, Gong Changshun quickly entered the office.
"Dad, why did my brother come here?"
Gong Le calmly gathered several appraisal reports, his expression unchanged from usual.
"Nothing much; he just came to check on things."
Hearing this, Gong Changshun showed a hint of disdain and muttered, "All he does is eat and drink. What good is he here for?"
Gong Le's gaze turned cold at his words.
Gong Changshun immediately recalled what their mother had told him: even if he was pretending, he should act respectfully towards his older brother.
So he quickly added, "I'm sorry, Dad. I misspoke."
Gong Le quickly dismissed him, then went home for a while before taking some things and heading to several hospitals and paternity testing centers.
