Lu Manyun nodded slightly, her expression cold. She recognized Qi Hui as the wife of the person who had shut down her precious daughter's livestream. She had no intention of being friendly.
She wondered what Qi Hui wanted from her.

Uncertain of Lu Manyun's attitude, Qi Hui quickly stated her purpose. "Mrs. Lu, I wonder if you could explain things to Xiao Xi and help ease her anger so that Mr. Sheng will let our company off the hook."

Seeing Lu Manyun walk away, both Guan Yan and Qi Hui panicked and immediately chased after her. Just then, Qi Yan's old friend Lei Biao came running up with a butcher's knife in hand. His face was flushed with anger, his eyes wide as he lost all rationality in his fury. Spotting Guan Yan ahead of him, he charged forward without a second thought.
Guan Yan was terrified at the sight and felt as if half of her soul had left her body; all she could think about was escaping. In a panic, she grabbed onto Lu Manyun. By this time, Lu Manyun had already taken several steps away and instinctively tried to shake off Guan Yan when pulled back. However, Guan Yan was so frightened that she held on too tightly, making it impossible for Lu Manyun to break free.
As a result, Lu Manyun’s pace slowed down. Meanwhile, Qi Hui had also been paralyzed by fear; upon seeing the butcher's knife, she instinctively began to run as well.
