Just when Lin Rou and the others thought Ruan Fu Xi was about to tell them something, she said again, "But before that, we need to call the police."
Lin Rou was taken aback, still processing the information. "Call the police?"
Ruan Fu Xi explained, "Zhao Xiao Yu is a victim; of course, we should report it to the authorities. The mastermind behind this should face severe legal consequences."
Lin Rou nodded in agreement. "That makes sense."
Ruan Fu Xi then made the call, briefly explaining the situation before hanging up. She turned back to Lin Rou and her two assistants, who were looking at her with bright eyes.
"Xiao Xi, was that female ghost, Zhi, harmed by an old actor from our crew?" Lin Rou asked. She thought that actor seemed easy to get along with and had a good reputation in the industry—famous and wealthy. Why would they want to harm someone? And why would they want to harm themselves?
Ruan Fu Xi questioned her back, "Do you know what that actor's name is?"
Lin Rou nodded. "Yes, it's Teacher Zhao Li Yun. She has over thirty years of acting experience and is a highly respected veteran in the field."
This left her puzzled about why someone like Zhao Li Yun would commit such a crime. However, having been in the entertainment industry for so long, Lin Rou understood that some people could be deceptive—knowing someone’s face didn’t mean knowing their heart.
Ruan Fu Xi continued, "The female ghost just now was named Zhao Xiao Yu; she came from the same village as Zhao Li Yun."
Upon hearing this, Lin Rou and her two assistants immediately moved a few small stools over from the side.
"Xiao Xi, come sit down and talk; don’t tire yourself out," Lin Rou urged.
Ruan Fu Xi smiled and sat down with them before recounting Zhao Xiao Yu's story.
Zhao Xiao Yu had been personally harmed by Zhao Li Yun. Before her death, she had endured much torment, which led to her lingering resentment. After her death, she became a vengeful spirit. The reason Zhao Li Yun did this was that she needed such a ghost to serve her purposes.
Lin Rou and her companions gasped at this revelation. Although they didn’t know all the details, just hearing those words was enough to grasp Zhao Li Yun's cruelty.
Ruan Fuxi glanced at Lin Rou and said, "The reason Zhao Liyun targeted you is because of your favorable destiny. She has her eyes on your fortune and luck, wanting to kill you through Zhao Xiaoyu and then transfer your lifespan and good fortune to herself. Everything she has achieved today has come through such means."
After hearing Ruan Fuxi's words, Lin Rou felt a chill run through her heart, quickly followed by a surge of anger. "Xiaoxi, does that mean there are others who have died at her hands besides Zhao Xiaoyu?"
Ruan Fuxi nodded. "That's right. The vengeful spirits that Zhao Liyun had controlled are gone now, which is why she used the same method to kill Zhao Xiaoyu."
As Lin Rou listened to Ruan Fuxi, she suddenly recalled the rumors circulating in the industry about several actresses who had risen to fame only to die mysteriously. Now she suspected that all of this was connected to Zhao Liyun.
As for the details surrounding Zhao Xiaoyu's demise, Ruan Fuxi chose not to elaborate. "It's too tragic. I want to preserve some dignity for the dead."
Lin Rou and the others didn’t ask any further questions; their expressions were all grave as they waited for the police to arrive together.
Meanwhile, Zhao Liyun, who had lost her fingers, realized that her actions had been exposed and instinctively tried to escape. However, when she gathered her things to leave the set, she discovered that she was trapped in the room and couldn't get out.
Feeling the oppressive energy in the room, Zhao Liyun coldly said, "Zhao Xiaoyu, it’s you who’s behind this."
