Gong Le was somewhat familiar with his eldest son’s tendency to get into trouble and knew that he often had bad luck. Injuries and accidents were commonplace for him. Remembering that it was usually his wife who handled matters concerning their eldest son, he was about to call to check how serious the accident was—if it wasn't severe, then there was no need to worry. He had grown accustomed to this.
Just then, his wife Qi Hui's call came through. "Honey, Changle has been in a car accident! The doctor said he needs to stay in the hospital for two days. I'm going to the hospital to see him now."
Her voice was filled with urgency and concern.
Upon hearing that his eldest son only needed to stay in the hospital for two days, Gong Le knew that the situation wasn't serious. Since it wasn't critical, he decided not to go visit. "Just take a quick look and don't stay too long," he instructed.
When Gong Le first learned about his eldest son's accident, his immediate reaction was worry. However, considering his son's fate, he couldn't help but sigh inwardly. He resolved not to visit his son in the hospital after all.
Qi Hui, upon hearing this, showed a flicker of impatience in her eyes, but her voice remained gentle yet urgent. "This child, I heard he got into an accident out of spite. Oh dear, what a situation! It makes our hearts ache."
Gong Le frowned at her words. "Spite? What happened?"
Qi Hui pretended not to notice his dissatisfaction and continued to fan the flames subtly. "I heard it was with a beautiful female streamer. I’m not too clear on the details. I won’t keep you any longer; I need to go see Chang Le now."
Feigning urgency, Qi Hui hung up the phone. Afterward, she leisurely changed her clothes and carefully selected a bag and shoes before heading out to the hospital. She had received the call from the hospital over half an hour ago, informing her that Gong Chang Le had been in an accident and was hospitalized. Yet it was only after half an hour that she made this call, revealing her true attitude towards her eldest son.
