Yu Qi looked at the burnt talisman, now rendered useless. She could only grit her teeth and scold Huang Jian, then said sadly, "Well, since you've already burned it, I won't waste my feelings buying you any more talismans."
Huang Jian's eyes held a hint of doubt, but he continued to coax her as before. "It's my fault for making Qi Qi sad. Didn't you say you liked the bag from home? I'll buy it for you."
Yu Qi accepted the offer. "Hmph, that's more like it."
In reality, she was pondering what had gone wrong. Previously, Huang Jian had treasured the talisman she gave him like a precious gem; there was no way he would have burned it unless something unexpected happened or someone had said something to him.

After dealing with Huang Jian, Yu Qi quickly found an excuse to return to her room to rest. Unbeknownst to her, Huang Jian was watching her with a scrutinizing gaze.

Once back in her room, Yu Qi sent another message to Tian. She wanted to request another talisman. However, after sending the message, she felt a sense of unease creeping in.
Last night, after leaving the auction house, she had contacted Tian and embellished the story about how Ruan Fuxi had snatched away the yellow gemstone.
But until now, Tian had not replied to her message.
Yu Qi was worried that he might think she was insincere and incapable, so he simply gave up on her. Just as she was lost in thought, anxiously considering whether to call Tian, a message finally came through.
"Who is Ruan Fuxi?"
Yu Qi immediately replied, "She is a small streamer who does fortune-telling online. She's the one competing with me for it. If it weren't for her, I would have already won the yellow gemstone."
After sending that message, Yu Qi felt a bit uneasy. However, since Tian was still willing to respond to her, it seemed there was still hope for her to join the sect.
Tian replied, "Well, since you didn't win it, just say you two are fated not to have it. As for the talisman being burned, the other party is already suspicious of you."
Seeing this, Yu Qi hurriedly asked, "What should I do, Master? Can you sell me another talisman? I can't leave yet; why did he suddenly start doubting me?"
She still hadn't gathered enough.
Tian responded, "I can give you another talisman. As for why he doubts you, check who he met at the auction entrance last night."
Yu Qi looked at the message and quickly replied, "Thank you, Master!"
Then she anxiously sent another message: "Master, I really want to join your sect. Not winning the yellow gemstone this time was my mistake, but my sincerity is genuine. Master, do I still have a chance?"
After a while, the reply came through.
"You still have a chance."
Only then did Yu Qi feel relieved. She immediately began to investigate who Huang Jian had encountered after the auction ended that made him burn the talisman she had given him. Upon seeing Ruan Fuxi's name, Yu Qi gritted her teeth.
