If it came to fortune-telling, she certainly couldn't compare to Ruan Fuxi, and when it came to wealth and power, she was equally outmatched. Not to mention that she had already been expelled from the Yu family; even when she hadn't been kicked out, she couldn't hold a candle to Ruan Fuxi. And now, with Sheng Yanzhou standing behind Ruan Fuxi, no matter how long she lived, she could never amass that much wealth.
As these thoughts swirled in Yu Qi's mind, an idea suddenly struck her. She might not be able to compete with Ruan Fuxi directly, but Tian could help her. Tian was a genuine disciple of the mystical sect and had considerable abilities. If he were willing to intervene, he could certainly make Ruan Fuxi pay a price. Perhaps he could even bring her down to a life of poverty and misfortune!
Yu Qi couldn't help but smile at the thought. However, she needed to think carefully about how to explain to Tian why she hadn't secured the yellow gemstone after promising him that she would. Now that the gemstone was gone, would Tian think less of her? Would he believe she lacked sincerity or capability?
The more she pondered this, the more anxious she became. She was determined to join his sect and learn skills that would allow her to trample Ruan Fuxi underfoot. Suddenly, an idea flashed in her mind. She could say that the yellow gemstone had almost been in her grasp when Ruan Fuxi intervened, using her influence and underhanded tactics to snatch it away.
With this thought in mind, Yu Qi couldn't help but smirk with satisfaction. She then turned to the man beside her, who was still struggling with his own thoughts as he awaited her response. She deliberately sighed, putting on a pitiful expression as if something precious had been taken from her and she was powerless to stop it. With a tone of understanding, she said, "I understand now, Brother Huang. It’s my fault for putting you in a difficult position. Since it was Sheng Yanzhou who took it away, let's just forget about it."
As she spoke, tears welled up in her eyes, making her look both pitiful and wronged. Yu Qi knew that any man seeing her like this would find it hard to resist. He had initially thought her temper was fierce, but now he had forgotten everything else.
"It's all my fault, Qi Qi," he said earnestly. "I’ll definitely get you an even better quality yellow gemstone."
As for secretly approaching Sheng Yanzhou to buy the gemstone for herself? That thought never crossed his mind. Hearing him say this made Yu Qi secretly smile; her charm was indeed irresistible.
Even without the Yu family, there were still people providing her with a luxurious lifestyle. As for the man who said he would buy her a yellow gemstone, even though it wasn't the one she wanted, Yu Qi didn't refuse. After all, it was still a gemstone, and she certainly wouldn't turn down something valuable.
With that thought, she smiled through her tears, leaning against the man and softly saying, "Brother Huang, you are so good to me."
Seeing her like this made him unable to suppress his laughter. He felt himself growing fonder of this woman before him, wishing he could give her everything. During the subsequent auction, he spent several million more to buy jewelry for Yu Qi. Seeing her smile made him feel that all the money he spent was worth it. Occasionally, thoughts of being willing to give her everything crossed his mind.
After the auction ended, Yu Qi held her newly acquired jewelry and smiled. Although she hadn't gotten the yellow gemstone, these items could be considered a form of compensation from the man.
As they walked out of the auction house, Huang glanced hesitantly at the entrance and said to Yu Qi, "Qi Qi, why don't you go ahead? I still have some matters to attend to."
Yu Qi didn't want to linger with him either. Upon hearing this, she replied, "Brother Huang, of course it's your matters. I'll go alone."
Huang let out a sigh of relief, looking anxiously at the door. He needed to explain today’s situation well to Mr. Sheng; he had no idea that the person sitting in the private room was him and certainly hadn't intended to bid against him. He hoped Mr. Sheng wouldn't be angry.
