Wang cleared his throat and, holding a megaphone, announced, "As you can see, each guest has their own equipment, but I believe you've noticed that none of you have a complete set."
He paused for a moment, and Han Fei'er interjected, "Director, you know this too. So can you please provide us with a complete set of equipment? Otherwise, I can't even go into the water." She looked at the diving mask in her hands, nearly in tears.
What good is just a diving mask? It doesn't allow her to dive, catch fish, let alone hunt for precious seafood.
Wang chuckled slyly. "The equipment you have is all that the production team can provide. Not everyone needs to go into the water; as long as more than half of you can manage to dive with what you have, that's sufficient."
"Director, you're really something!" The guests inwardly cursed him, feeling exasperated.
"We currently have seven guests, which means more than half translates to at least four needing to dive. Yet the items we drew still aren't enough for all four of us to be fully equipped."
Wang continued to grin mischievously. "Well, that's your problem. The rules of the show are set like this. You all should discuss how to distribute the equipment."
Han Fei'er huffed and shot him a glare. "Oh sure, now that your sister-in-law is pregnant, you're getting more arrogant."
She silently gave Wang the finger in her mind.
Then they gathered together to discuss their options.
Ruan Fuxi said, "Only those who can swim should go into the water. How many of us can swim? I can."
Even though there would be safety personnel and cameras around, it was clear that those who couldn't swim shouldn't even think about diving.
Han Fei'er immediately raised her hand and said, "I can swim; count me in."
She knew she wouldn't be able to catch any fish or seafood and could already predict her poor performance.
Silently, she felt like crying inside.
At that moment, Yue Hongjie chimed in, "I can swim too; count me as well."
At that moment, Han Fei'er suddenly remembered Meng Zhan and called out to him, "Aren't you a professional adventurer? You must know how to swim. Let's have the four of us go together and distribute the gear we have."
Meng Zhan felt a bit cowardly at that moment. He was afraid to go into the sea. The clips of him swimming in his adventure videos were all staged. He would suit up, record a quick shot in the water, and then come right back up. But to actually dive in for real? He couldn't bring himself to do it.
Feeling regretful, Meng Zhan said, "I twisted my ankle a couple of days ago during a mission, and it hasn't healed yet. I’m afraid I can’t."
Han Fei'er frowned. "When did you twist your ankle? How come we didn’t know about it? You didn’t mention it before; why bring it up now? Who knows if you’re telling the truth?"
Meng Zhan replied with regret, "I didn’t want to worry everyone before. I’m just not in good shape right now, and I can’t force myself to go into the water."
The viewers were curious.
"Did anyone see Meng Zhan twist his ankle during the live stream a couple of days ago? I didn't notice anything."
"I didn't see it either; he must be making excuses."
"I think Meng Zhan is just looking for an excuse to avoid going into the sea. This adventure blogger is going to crash soon."
"Hahaha, this is hilarious! A professional adventurer making excuses not to swim; his fans should come and see this."
Han Fei'er muttered under her breath.
