Even a day later, another accident occurred, resulting in casualties among the personnel. These incidents greatly alarmed the nearby residents, with some even preparing to move away from the area.
Su Shi furrowed his brow and had no choice but to report the matter again, requesting that personnel from the Non-Human Affairs Research Institute handle it. This institute belonged to a national department specifically tasked with dealing with such events.
Due to the recent series of accidents in this area causing negative impacts and speculation, someone was quickly dispatched to investigate. Leading the team was Master Zhao Lin, who, after patrolling the vicinity according to protocol, felt he had reached a conclusion.
This location had served as an execution ground for several dynasties over the past two to three hundred years, where many lives had been lost. The heavy Yin energy lingering here was likely the cause of the recent accidents.
Listening to Master Zhao Lin's confident assertions, Su Shi felt a sense of relief. It was indeed true that this place had once been an execution ground. If that was the case, resolving the issue should not be too difficult.
Thus, Master Zhao performed several rituals, and it seemed that the matter was settled. After completing the rituals, the area remained peaceful for a while; however, it wasn't long before another accident occurred!
Su Shi once again called upon Master Zhao Lin. "Master Zhao, is there still another issue here? Why did another accident happen?"
Zhao Lin inspected the area again and muttered to himself, "It shouldn't be happening. After performing the rituals, this place should have been fine."
He then reassured Su Shi, "Don't worry; I'll perform a few more rituals."
Su Shi nodded but still felt uneasy. Just like last time, there were no incidents in the days following the rituals; however, after a few days, another accident occurred.
The anxiety that had been weighing on Su Shi's heart returned. He believed that while Master Zhao Lin had some ability, it was not enough to resolve this issue completely. To restore peace to this area once and for all, he would need to seek out other masters.
However, Zhao Lin's ability to enter the Non-Human Research Institute already demonstrated his exceptional skills, as most people could not gain access. But where could he find a master who could completely resolve this issue?
Su Shi felt troubled. For some reason, the image of Ruan Fuxi popped into his mind. Unfortunately, Ruan Fuxi was not in the capital at the moment; she had gone to an island to film a variety show and it was uncertain when she would return.
After pondering for a while, Su Shi recalled the protective talisman he had purchased from Ruan Fuxi during a gathering. With no other options available, he decided to give it a try and placed the talisman on a specific spot at the entrance of the vegetable market.
To Su Shi's surprise, this method actually proved effective. For a period of time afterward, there were no more incidents occurring at the market. However, he also understood that relying solely on the talisman would not completely solve the problem; it was merely a temporary fix.
The talisman in his possession should be sufficient until Ruan Fuxi returned to the capital.
