Dali initially didn't feel much, but upon hearing Ruan Fuxi's words, he immediately nodded.
"That's right, Master. Just as you said, my father passed away at nineteen, and my grandfather also died when he was just a teenager. My uncles and cousins are the same; none of them lived past ten."
Then, fear crept into his voice. "Master, if that's the case, does it mean I won't live past ten either? What about my son?"
Ruan Fuxi's voice was calm. "Logically speaking, yes, but don't be afraid; it can be resolved."
Dali felt a wave of relief wash over him.
"Wow, just hearing Ruan Jie say 'don't be afraid' brings me immense comfort."
"I used to think three thousand for a divination was too expensive, but now it seems incredibly worth it."
"This netizen is really lucky; thankfully, he got in touch with Ruan Jie."
As Dali listened to Ruan Fuxi's words, he began to calm down. "Master, what does this have to do with that jar? How do I resolve it?"
He wondered if such a powerful master would charge a hefty fee for the resolution. He could probably scrape together some money, but not much—his son's schooling required funds that couldn't be touched. However, he thought he could borrow some.
Ruan Fuxi explained, "That jar has been buried under your hometown for over a hundred years. Someone used dark magic to deliberately bury individuals related by blood to them in your home, aiming to plunder your family's fortune. The reason every male in your family has not lived past ten is because your fortune has been stolen."
Upon hearing this, Dali couldn't help but curse the perpetrators before turning back to Ruan Fuxi, thinking that the master would likely ask for payment next.
But Ruan Fuxi continued directly, "Resolving this isn't difficult. The owner of the ashes in that jar has been buried underground without offerings for so long and has been disturbed; he harbors resentment. This is why you've experienced various misfortunes at home recently. All you need to do is find a good place to re-bury him and burn some paper money during festivals. Once you do that, everything will be fine for your family moving forward."
Seeing Dali's expression change, Ruan Fuxi added reassuringly, "Don't worry; I won't charge you for this."
Dali was so moved that he nearly cried. In front of the screen, this grown man kept repeating, "Thank you, Master! Thank you!"
Ruan Fuxi sighed in exasperation. "Alright, no need to thank me since you've already paid for the divination. Is there anything else? If not, you can log off."
Dali quickly asked again, "Master, who is the one who cast this evil spell on my family? I still need to burn paper for my relatives buried in my home, and it really makes me uncomfortable."
Ruan Fuxi replied, "It's been a long time, and it would be troublesome to track them down. Don't worry; the person who used this kind of dark magic will eventually suffer the consequences. I suggest you just bury the jar and live your life well. As for the owner of the ashes in that jar, he is also innocent. He probably didn't know his family would treat him this way. Having been buried for so long without anyone burning paper for him, he must be having a hard time down there."
Upon hearing this, Dali felt it made sense. He thanked Ruan Fuxi once more and then logged off.
"That's great! I knew Sister Ruan could solve it."
"Speaking of which, this dark magic is really despicable. It actually robs others' fortune to ensure one's own family has a good life. Just hearing about it makes me angry."
"Yeah, that's why it's called dark magic."
"Sister Ruan, why don't you chat with us for a bit? We have so many questions we're curious about before we do the fortune-telling."
