As the last guest arrived, the production team’s broadcast echoed once more.
"All guests have arrived at the assembly point. Next, we will introduce the identities of the eight guests.
Guest One: Yue Hongjie, age, a veteran and now a gym owner.
Guest Two: Meng Zhan, age, an outdoor adventurer.
Guest Three: Lin Yunqing, age, a PhD in biology and head of a research institute.
Guest Four: Lu Xun, age, a popular singer.
Guest Five: Ruan Fuxi, age, a prospective junior in college and an ordinary enthusiast of metaphysics.
Guest Six: Han Feier, age, an actress.
Guest Seven: Sheng Yanzhou, age, a group director and CEO.
Guest Eight: Shi Lili, age, an artist."
As the introductions were made, the online audience erupted with excitement.
"I knew Guest One looked so tough; turns out he’s a veteran and now owns a gym!"
"I like Guest Two; I’m a fan of his adventures."
"Guest Three is not bad either; he looks refined and has that scholarly vibe."
"Hehe, I like them all! My favorite is Guest Five, Ruan Fuxi; even her name sounds nice."
"I like Guest Seven! I thought he looked like a model; didn’t expect him to be a chairman! He’s rich!"
"The director really knows how to pick people; each one has their own unique traits—it's like watching gods battle!"
As the online discussions heated up, the production team continued with their announcement:
"Congratulations to the guests for completing the first task! Considering this is your first day on the island, we have thoughtfully prepared food and accommodations for your first night here. You may now proceed to collect them."
Han Feier caught onto the key phrase "first night" from the production team's words and couldn't help but ask:
"What happens after tonight? Will the production team stop providing food?"
Director Wang Cheng revealed a devilish smile upon hearing the question.
"After tonight, all the guests will need to exchange tasks and points for their food, clothing, and accommodations."
Han Fei'er felt like crying, looking up at the sky in despair. Why had she ever thought it was a good idea to participate in such a variety show?
The staff began distributing food. The guests fell silent as they stared at the dry bread in their hands, a collective thought of wanting to strangle the director rising within them.
"This is our dinner? We could use this to scrub ourselves!"
The director chuckled. "Yes, this is what everyone will have for dinner. If you want something else, you can exchange points for it. If you brought your own supplies with food, you can use that too."
Guest Number Two, Meng Zhan, couldn't help but speak up. "But my supplies were taken by the production team."
Inside were items he had carefully selected based on years of adventure experience, and he had put a lot of thought into it. But due to being overweight, everything had been confiscated.
Han Fei'er chimed in as if she had found her comrades. "Me too! The production team really isn't doing their job right."
She had lost her clothes, cosmetics, and seasoning packets!
Wang Cheng continued to smile innocently. "Oh, how can you say we aren't doing our job? The rules clearly state that you can't exceed five pounds; if you do, it's considered overweight."
