With that thought in mind, Shili Li, soaked to the skin, hurriedly made her way toward the rendezvous point with her supplies. She was relieved that she remembered some details about this show from her previous life; she had kept her supplies under five kilograms, or else they would have been confiscated by the production team. In her last life, there had been guests who exceeded the weight limit and lost all their carefully prepared supplies to the show.
As Shili Li walked forward, she tried her best to maintain her image.
"Isn't that Shili Li? I know her; she's a star who had some fame a couple of years ago."
"Is she participating in this show to make a comeback?"
"Our Li Li is so strong and brave; she dares to join such a survival variety show without any complaints."
"Unimpressed. Don't you guys know she pretended to be a fortune-telling streamer a few days ago? That was so cringeworthy."
"Haha, she actually got thrown into the sea by the production team! Her luck is just too terrible."
Director Wang Cheng watched as viewers flooded into the live stream, nodding in satisfaction. He was confident that his variety show would definitely be a hit. He instructed his staff to check which live stream had the best traffic and compile a ranking.
Sitting in the wooden cabin built by the production team, enjoying the air conditioning powered by a generator, Wang Cheng felt incredibly comfortable—especially while watching the guests struggle to reach the rendezvous point.
With that in mind, he added, "Keep an eye on things with Mr. Sheng; we can't afford any slip-ups. He's our financial backer, and if anything goes wrong, we won't be able to pay for it."
The staff nodded seriously in response.
As time passed, although the guests were getting closer to the rendezvous point, at this pace, they might not arrive until after dark. Wang Cheng's eyes darted around as he concocted another devious idea.
Then, a mechanical voice echoed once more across the island:
"Guests who have not reached the rendezvous point within one hour will not receive any points, regardless of whether they are the first to arrive."
The guests struggling to navigate the island couldn't help but respond to the broadcast, with one of them raising a middle finger at the flying live-streaming device.
"Hahaha, I bet the guest is cursing at the director."
"It looks like they're really letting loose."
"Director, let me speak on behalf of the guests: be a decent person!"
"Enough! My heart aches for those handsome and beautiful faces."
At that moment, Shi Lili was drenched in sweat. Upon hearing the announcement, she suddenly recalled something.
There was actually a hidden shortcut prepared by the production team on the way to the rendezvous point.
She thought for a moment and then spotted an inconspicuous green banner hanging ahead. A wave of joy surged within her as she immediately followed this marker.
She had to earn those points.
Meanwhile, Ruan Fuxi also heard the broadcast. She glanced at the sky and then turned to Ruan Xun beside her.
"We need to hurry; it's going to rain soon."
Ruan Xun looked up at the clear sky, puzzled, but nodded nonetheless. "Alright, but how far are we from the rendezvous point? Will we make it in time?"
Ruan Fuxi replied, "We won't make it if we walk."
Just as Ruan Xun was about to ask what they should do, he saw her pluck a leaf from a nearby plant.
Ruan Fuxi raised an eyebrow, a slight smile playing on her lips.
"We'll take a shortcut through the wild."
