"Xiao Xi, you can go ahead and participate in the program. The shop will be fine with me and Brother. Just have fun!"
Ruan Anmu stepped forward and hugged her, feeling a bit flushed from the fragrance that lingered on her. It was strange; both she and Xiao Xi used the same brand of toiletries, yet she didn't smell as delightful.
Ruan Fuxi smiled back at her. "You really understand me."
Then Ruan Anmu turned to Ruan Xun and said, "Xiao Xun, do your best! I’ll be watching your live stream!"
The airport was bustling with people, and since Ruan Xun was quite the figure, they didn’t linger long. After bidding farewell, they boarded the plane.
On the plane, both wore sunglasses and masks, each carrying identical bags. This bag, weighing no more than a kilogram, was the only item permitted by the production team.
No matter what was packed inside, it could not exceed that weight limit.
Ruan Fuxi left her pet turtle at the Ruan family home; it could serve as a good luck charm when there was nothing going on, and if anything happened, it could protect them.
Beside her, Ruan Xun watched his sister resting with her eyes slightly closed, a smile creeping onto his lips. He rarely had such moments alone with her. Even when they did spend time together, it often ended in arguments; it had never felt this warm before.
Knowing he would be participating in a survival variety show with his sister motivated him to brush up on his island survival knowledge. Besides packing his own clothes, he also brought along snacks that she liked.
Ruan Xun felt confident; he would take good care of his sister during the show.
This flight wouldn’t take them directly to the deserted island but would first land at an airport abroad. From there, they would board a private jet arranged by the production team to reach their destination.
When Ruan Fuxi and Ruan Xun boarded the production team's private jet, they noticed that aside from the pilot and crew members, they were the only guests on board.
Ruan Xun asked curiously, "Where are the other guests?"
One of the crew members explained, "The other guests are on a different helicopter; they will be randomly dropped off at various locations on the island."
This was also the director's intention. In his own words, it was meant to be more challenging; otherwise, how could it be called a survival adventure on a deserted island?
At this point, the crew members looked curiously at the two of them. All the other guests were being introduced individually, so they wondered why these two were appearing together. However, no one asked further questions and instead continued explaining the rules of the show.
Once they reached the deserted island, the live broadcast would begin, and now he needed to check whether the items they brought exceeded the weight limit.
Ruan Xun and Ruan Fuxi handed over their bags. The crew member's face lit up with excitement, as if anticipating something significant. He placed the bags on a precise electronic scale.
The scale displayed exactly what it should—neither more nor less. The crew member widened his eyes in surprise, seemingly unable to believe how accurate it was. He stubbornly weighed the two bags again, but the result remained unchanged.
With a hint of disappointment, he returned the bags to them. The crew member shot a peculiar glance at the two, as if marveling at their good fortune or lamenting something else. He thought to himself that if either bag had exceeded the weight limit—even by just a little—he could have confiscated everything and left these two guests empty-handed for the show.
Who would have guessed they were so precise about their weights? Two perfectionists!
He wished to see the same dramatic scene as his colleagues—guests clutching their chests in despair and lamenting their losses!
Director Wang Cheng clearly hadn’t expected any guests to adhere so strictly to the show’s rules; not a single gram over the limit! Unlike some of the other guests, who had already lost their carefully prepared supplies to the production team.
Recalling how those two guests had stared wide-eyed, nearly pointing at him in outrage before bursting into tears, Wang Cheng couldn't help but smirk.
