Shih Wei, the eldest brother of the Shih family, frowned as he listened to Shih Lili's words.
"Lili, who told you to call yourself a fake heiress? Is this how you were raised?" The Ruan family had previously held a birthday party for their two daughters, which meant they had already acknowledged Ruan Fuxi's identity.
Shih Lili pouted, clearly displeased. "Big Brother, come save me!"
In the Shih family, her elder brother was strict with her, emphasizing rules and etiquette; he was the one she feared the most. Despite saying this, Shih Lili still looked down on Ruan Fuxi.
"Stay there and don’t move. I’ll send someone to pick you up," Shih Wei instructed.
By the time Shih Lili returned to the Shih residence, two hours had passed. As soon as she stepped inside, she spotted Shih Wei sitting on the sofa in the living room, seemingly waiting for her.
Her heart skipped a beat as she called out, "Big Brother."
Shih Wei nodded and gestured for her to sit across from him. "Sit."
Once Shih Lili settled down, Shih Wei asked, "You called earlier saying Ruan Fuxi deliberately harmed you. What’s going on?"
Although Lili was not his biological sister, having been raised in the Shih family for so many years made her no different from one; she was not someone others could easily bully.
As soon as Shih Lili heard this, she began to complain profusely. "Big Brother, I was driving perfectly fine when suddenly my car got stuck and wouldn’t move! Ruan Fuxi was in the car in front of me—if it wasn’t her causing trouble, then who else could it be? Yan Zhou?"
Upon hearing Yan Zhou's name, Shih Wei focused intently and frowned. "Yan Zhou? Have you been bothering him again? Have you forgotten how he was sent abroad two years ago?"
Shih Lili felt a bit irritated. "Big Brother, I just like him! So what if I’m following him?"
Shih Wei looked at his stubborn sister and frowned as he warned her:
Sheng Yanzhou doesn't like you. No matter how much you cling to him, it won't change anything. If you provoke him, even your father's influence won't help you. You should figure it out for yourself.
Shi Lili looked at his serious expression and reluctantly replied, "I understand."
Seeing her like this, Shi Wei nodded, his tone softening slightly. "There are so many men in the capital; it's not just Sheng Yanzhou. The Sheng family is wealthy, but you can't rely on them. Consider other options."
Shi Lili pouted, thinking that it was precisely because Sheng Yanzhou was rich that she liked him. No one else could compare to the power and wealth of the Sheng family. She wanted the best. However, she kept these thoughts to herself, knowing her brother would just say she was being unrealistic.
Instead of responding to him, she changed the subject again. "Brother, let's not talk about Yanzhou. Ruan Fuxi has been bullying me; you have to stand up for me!"
Shi Wei replied, "If what you say is true, I will make the Ruan family give an explanation. Now go to sleep."
Shi Lili was still unsatisfied; she felt her brother should teach Ruan Fuxi a good lesson. But she also knew that her brother valued propriety above all else. Moreover, now that she realized she wasn't Shi family's biological daughter, she chose not to say anything more and went upstairs with a cold expression.
Shi Wei watched her retreating figure and ultimately decided not to say anything else.
When Shi Lili was brought home by their father, he already had memories of the past. Both he and his brother knew that this sister was not their biological sibling but actually their cousin. However, seeing how much their father liked her, they gradually accepted her as their sister.
They had no other expectations for Shi Lili; as long as she could be a good daughter and make their father happy, that was enough.
Recalling Shi Lili's words, Shi Wei thought for a moment and decided to visit the Ruan family himself.
