Shirley knew where the Sheng family estate was, so she drove there specifically to keep an eye on Sheng Yanzhou. At that moment, Sheng Yanzhou was meticulously preparing to leave with his driver for the Ruan family. Before he left, his dog, Puff, clung to his pant leg, refusing to let go.

However, as she trailed behind, Shirley noticed something was off. Where was Sheng Yanzhou going? This wasn't the route to his company. When his car stopped outside the Ruan family home, Shirley immediately spotted a woman walking out from the door who seemed to glow—Ruan Fuxi!
Shirley had initially dismissed this daughter of the Ruan family with no blood relation as insignificant, but seeing Sheng Yanzhou's attitude towards her set off alarm bells in her mind. He had never been this considerate towards any woman before; not only did he personally come to pick her up, but he also got out of the car to help her in and carefully shielded her from bumping her head on the roof.
More importantly, Shirley had never seen such a genuine smile on Sheng Yanzhou's face before. Jealousy crept over her features as she tightened her grip on the plate in her hand.
Ruan Fuxi and Sheng Yanzhou settled into the back seat together. Once inside the car, she smiled and asked, "Who else is coming to the gathering today? Do I know them?"
Sheng Yanzhou's expression softened as he smiled back at her. "Just a few people; you probably don't know many of them. I'll introduce you when we get there."
Ruan Fuxi nodded eagerly. "Sounds good!"
Then she turned towards Sheng Yanzhou, resting her chin on her hand with a beaming smile as she changed the topic:
"Do you think my dress looks good today?"
Ruan Fuxi looked at him, her demeanor poised and elegant, unable to resist teasing him. It reminded her of when they had just met in the cultivation world, her expression unconsciously taking on a hint of allure. This was something she had learned during her time at the Hehuan Sect. Although she later joined the Jiuxiao Sect and changed her cultivation method, she hadn't completely forgotten what she learned before.
In an instant, Sheng Yanzhou felt a rush of warmth in his chest, his mouth dry. He gazed at her delicate, fair skin, as if drawn to her by an irresistible force. The more he looked, the harder it became to tear his gaze away.
Accompanying this was a faint fragrance reminiscent of the fruitwood, neither too strong nor too sweet, carrying an indescribable temptation.
Sheng Yanzhou struggled to shift his gaze away. He couldn't shake the feeling that Xiao Xi was doing this on purpose. A thought flashed through his mind—something he had read online: "A novice encounters a max-level succubus."
He quickly dismissed these thoughts and said earnestly, "It looks good."
From the moment he first saw her, he had been utterly captivated; his attention was solely on her.
A glimmer of amusement flickered in Ruan Fuxi's eyes, but she feigned confusion and asked, "Really? Then why is it that Yanzhou doesn’t want to say a few more words to praise me and keeps avoiding my gaze?"
Sheng Yanzhou thought she genuinely didn't believe him and hurriedly turned to explain. The next moment, he found himself staring into Ruan Fuxi's smiling eyes.
Realizing what was happening, his refined face broke into a smile that mixed helplessness with affection. Xiao Xi was doing this on purpose.
But Ruan Fuxi found it increasingly amusing. With a soft and delicate tone, she continued, "Yanzhou, why don’t you look at me? I’m so beautiful; don’t you like me?"
Sheng Yanzhou felt as if her words were brushing against his heartstrings, making his heartbeat quicken.
