Shirley had never imagined that she wasn't a biological child of the Shi family, especially not when this revelation came to light during a live broadcast. The speed at which information spread online was astonishing; it wouldn't be long before everyone who knew her would learn of this news.

With these thoughts racing through her mind, Shirley quickly took out her phone and made a call.
When Qiting saw her name on his screen, he felt puzzled. He was unaware that Shirley was not a biological daughter of the Shi family.
"Lily, what made you think of calling me?" he asked.
Shirley: I just arrived a few days ago, and it’s been two years since we last met, so I wanted to gather everyone together. You should invite Yan Zhou too.
Qiting listened to her words, unable to suppress his inner thoughts. He knew that Shirley's main point was her desire to see Yan Zhou. After all, everyone knew she liked him.
Qiting dared not agree on behalf of Sheng Yanzhou, especially since Yan Zhou wasn't fond of Shirley. How could he play matchmaker for them?
So, Qiting feigned ignorance. "I have no problem with it; I have plenty of time. But Yan Zhou is a busy person, and I wouldn’t want to interrupt his work at the company. If you want to invite him, you should talk to him directly."
Shirley huffed in response. "If Yan Zhou could agree directly, why would I need you?"
Qiting replied, "You know, Miss Shirley, I can't influence Yan Zhou's decisions." If it weren't for their childhood friendship, he wouldn't even want to engage with her.
Feeling dissatisfied, Shirley asked again, "Are there any gatherings coming up? If Yan Zhou is going, just let me know."
Qiting scrambled for an answer. "Gatherings? No gatherings that I know of." He was lying to Shirley; there was indeed a gathering with Yan Zhou that evening. He simply wouldn’t tell her to avoid ruining the event.
With no information to glean from him, Shirley had no choice but to hang up the phone.
