Ruan Fuxi laughed and stopped teasing him.
"Isn't it Monday? Don't you have work?"
Sheng Yanzhou was deep in thought about when would be the best time to confess to Xiaoxi, hoping she would agree. Hearing Ruan Fuxi's question, he had to set that aside for now and replied, "I don't have anything particularly important these days. Plus, my leg has only just recovered, so I'm staying home. If there's anything urgent, my assistant will report it."
The truth was, he wanted to spend time with Xiaoxi, which was why he had no work.
Ruan Fuxi nodded.
Sheng Yanzhou then asked, "Do you have anything planned after dinner?"
Ruan Fuxi tilted her head slightly, a playful smile in her eyes. "That depends on whether you want me to have something planned."
Sheng Yanzhou caught her drift and invited her, "Would you like to see my cat?"
Ruan Fuxi looked a bit puzzled. "Cat?"
Sheng Yanzhou nodded. "The one I told you about before; its name is Puff."
Ruan Fuxi remembered mistakenly thinking he had a pig instead of a cat. She chuckled and replied, "Sure."
Before long, the dishes were served.
Ruan Fuxi looked at the spread on the table, a glimmer of delight crossing her face. Most of the dishes were her favorites. Earlier, she had deliberately refrained from ordering any food herself; all the dishes were chosen by Sheng Yanzhou. It seemed that even without his memories, he still subconsciously remembered what she liked to eat.
Ruan Fuxi praised him, "Great! They're all my favorites."
As Sheng Yanzhou caught sight of the smile in her eyes, he felt a wave of relaxation wash over him. It seemed that Xiao Xi was quite satisfied with the dishes he had ordered.
This was their first meal together, and he wasn't sure what Xiao Xi liked to eat. Yet, as he was placing the order, a voice in his mind told him that she would probably enjoy these choices.
After finishing their meal, they stepped out of the private room, only to see Shi Lili leaning against the wall and Cheng Qiting standing beside her, looking helpless. Cheng Qiting had been thinking that he shouldn't have come at all, as it only brought him trouble. If it weren't for his concern that she might upset Yanzhou and create an awkward situation, he would have left long ago.
However, the moment he saw the two of them emerge from the room, his eyes widened in shock! Where was the wheelchair? Yanzhou's legs were healed!
After the initial shock wore off, he felt a wave of happiness for his friend. Shi Lili was equally astonished, staring at Sheng Yanzhou in speechless surprise. Cheng Qiting quickly stepped forward with a joyful expression.
"Yanzhou, your legs are better? That's amazing!"
"Yes," Sheng Yanzhou replied with a smile, "I found a master who helped me."
His gaze shifted to Ruan Fuxi, still carrying that hint of joy. Cheng Qiting immediately pressed on with questions.
"Which master? Do I know him? Is it the same one who saved me last time—the one who had wild boars fetch things for him?"
Sheng Yanzhou nodded in confirmation.
Cheng Qiting was so excited that he wanted to ask more questions when Shi Lili interrupted him with a strange expression.
"What master?"
"Wait a minute," she said, her brow furrowing. "In his previous life, Sheng Yanzhou never regained the use of his legs before he died. What exactly happened during that time? And this master who could heal his legs—where did he come from?"
