Zhou Mian's face instantly turned pale, a flash of panic crossing her features.
"What do you mean? My name is Zhou Mian, what else would it be?"
Ruan Fuxi's voice carried a hint of amusement, but to Zhou Mian, it sounded like a dangerous threat, as if a malevolent spirit was demanding her life.
"Your real name is Zhou Aidi. You have a younger brother. When you were sixteen, your mother planned to sell you to an old cripple as his wife, using the bride price to save for your brother's future house and wife. Out of resentment, you set fire to your home one night, killing your mother and brother, and ran away."
With each word Ruan Fuxi spoke, Zhou Mian's fists clenched tighter.
"I don’t know what nonsense you’re making up. My name is Zhou Mian! Zhou Aidi? Don’t spout such nonsense!"
Ruan Fuxi chuckled softly, her voice continuing to flow:
"You have no diploma and dream of soaring high like a phoenix, so you took a job in the nightlife industry. There, you met a wealthy man thirty years older than you. After three years by his side, you saved up quite a bit of money. With that money, you went abroad for plastic surgery. After returning home, you changed your name and fabricated a new identity to become an internet celebrity. But you were still not satisfied; you wanted to be the young mistress of a wealthy family."
Zhou Mian felt herself on the brink of collapse and shouted in distress, "Enough! Shut your mouth!"
Then she added defiantly, "If you keep slandering me like this, I will definitely sue you!"
The subtitles on the screen began to roll:
【Zhou Mian seems to be breaking down.】
【I’m the broadcaster now; judging by Zhou Mian’s reaction, I guess everything the broadcaster said was true.】
【I initially thought it was just about Zhou Mian and Young Master Qin, but I didn’t expect it to be so complicated behind the scenes.】
【Is what the broadcaster said true? If it's confirmed, I’ll truly admire the broadcaster!】
【Where are Zhou Mian’s fans? Speak up!】
Zhou Mian's fans were not fools; seeing this unfold, they fell silent.
Speak up?
They didn’t dare.
Ruan Fuxi reveled in Zhou Mian's breakdown and continued:
"So you went abroad again and summoned a little ghost because you heard that little ghosts are powerful and can make wishes come true. You wanted fame and for Qin Hu to fall in love with you. As your career improved, Qin Hu indeed fell for you. However, due to your greed, the little ghost became harder to satisfy than at first, didn’t it, Zhou Aidi?"
At that moment, Zhou Mian's face was ashen, cold sweat streaming down her face.
Who exactly was this broadcaster? How could she know so much about her life? Every word she spoke was spot on.
She had summoned this little ghost back, and recently its appetite had been growing larger. Whenever she couldn't feed it, it became disobedient, causing her endless trouble.
Zhou Mian felt a wave of fear rising in her heart, which she couldn't help but show on her face. Just as she was about to disconnect and salvage her fanbase, Ruan Fuxi spoke again:
"This divination is a free gift from me, after all, you meet my three exceptions."
Zhou Mian furrowed her brows. "What do you mean?"
Ruan Fuxi didn't answer.
Zhou Mian heard a light laugh from the computer, sensing the mockery in it. "Who exactly are you? Why do you hide behind the screen and refuse to show your face?"
At that moment, Ruan Fuxi, understanding and considerate of her fans, explained what the three exceptions were:
"Let me clarify for the new friends here. When we broadcast fortune-telling, we charge a fee for the divination. However, we do not charge for the following three types of people: first, those who are about to die; second, those facing great calamity; and third, those who have no good fortune left. Simply put, Zhou Mian, you're doomed."
"If that's truly what they're saying, then Zhou Mian is in big trouble."
"Waiting for the follow-up."
