Ruan Huai's throat moved slightly as he raised an eyebrow.
A new intern? One who could tell fortunes, exorcise evil spirits, and read feng shui? An intern with shares in the company?
Ruan Fuxi smiled brightly, "Yes, General Ruan."
At this moment, Assistant Zhang, standing behind Ruan Huai, widened his eyes in disbelief. What on earth is this ancestor doing here?
Beside them, Lin Xue'er frowned as she watched Ruan Fuxi smiling so happily in front of Ruan Huai. She felt a pang of annoyance and spoke up to Ruan Fuxi, "Since the materials have been delivered, you can leave now."
Then she turned to Ruan Huai and added, "General Ruan, the conference room has been prepared."
Ruan Huai shot a glance at Lin Xue'er, feeling dissatisfied with her commanding tone. He was about to hold a meeting; although he didn’t understand why his sister was hiding her identity, he was more than willing to play along.
"You just joined the company; if there's anything you're unfamiliar with, feel free to ask," he said gently, sounding like a boss encouraging a newcomer.
The problem was, he had never been this gentle before. As a result, aside from Assistant Zhang, everyone else couldn’t help but glance at Ruan Fuxi a few more times.
Especially Lin Xue'er; she couldn’t help but speculate why Ruan Huai was treating this woman so differently—was it because of her looks?
Ruan Fuxi beamed at him. "General Ruan, I will definitely work hard and contribute to the company."
Ruan Huai's lips twitched; he didn’t expect her to make any significant contributions—he just hoped she wouldn’t tell him about any non-materialistic nonsense that shouldn’t exist in the company.
After Ruan Fuxi left, Ruan Huai turned back to glance at her retreating figure, a hint of a smile flashing in his eyes. No wonder she got up so early this morning and acted so mysteriously.
She was waiting for him here.
After Ruan Fuxi returned to the front desk, she began to inquire about Lin Xue'er from the person next to her.
"Sister, I feel like that Secretary Lin has a strange attitude towards me. Does she not like me?"
The older sister, who was preparing for maternity leave, glanced around and pulled her aside to gossip. "Oh, she’s always like that. Especially since you look like this."
Ruan Fuxi was puzzled. "What do you mean by that?"
"Secretary Lin has been with the company for a year now. She has a high education level and is quite attractive, but she always seems to have an inexplicable feeling towards younger and prettier female employees, especially those close to President Ruan."
Ruan Fuxi suddenly understood. "So Secretary Lin likes President Ruan?"
Here it comes, just like in novels where there’s always a subordinate secretly in love with the CEO. Although her brother wasn't the protagonist of this story, he was still a CEO.
The other person gave her a knowing look. "So we all guess that Secretary Lin harbors some hostility towards younger and prettier women, seeing them as imaginary rivals."
Ruan Fuxi realized. "That’s why Secretary Lin looks at me strangely."
But she wondered if her brother had any feelings for Secretary Lin. Could she be her sister-in-law?
In the novels, her brother had been severely injured in a car accident and had become a vegetable in the hospital; there had been no romantic subplot involving him at all.
Ruan Fuxi thought for a moment; judging by her brother's appearance, his true love hadn’t appeared yet. So Secretary Lin was just an irrelevant character. As long as she wasn’t her sister-in-law, it would be fine; otherwise, she feared it would become complicated.
At noon, Ruan Fuxi arrived at the cafeteria of Tianyuan Technology. The variety of dishes here was abundant, offering everything from Chinese cuisine to Western dishes.
After getting her food, she walked around the cafeteria with her tray and then her eyes lit up as she spotted a table.
"President Ruan, may I sit here?"
