As Ruan Fuxi thought about this, she met Ruan Anmu's sparkling gaze.
"Xiao Xi, what about me?"
Ruan Fuxi couldn't help but chuckle, thinking to herself that Anmu was the female lead, destined for happiness. Despite her thoughts, she still earnestly began to read Anmu's fortune.
Ruan Anmu felt a mix of nervousness and anticipation. She feared that she might encounter some misfortune like her parents had.
Seeing her so tense, Ruan Fuxi smiled and said, "Xiao Mu, your fate is excellent, and your features are favorable. You may have faced some hardships early on, but after that, it will be smooth sailing and full of happiness. Your hairline is rounded, symbolizing wisdom and good fortune, and you will have benefactors to assist you. Your nose is well-defined, indicating future prosperity and a happy marriage."
As Ruan Fuxi spoke, Ruan Jili, Lu Manyun, and Ruan Huai all displayed expressions of joy.
Ruan Fuxi teased further, "Xiao Mu, your romantic prospects are approaching—it's your destined partner."
Upon hearing this, Ruan Anmu blushed slightly, her eyes blinking as if she wanted to ask more but felt shy.
Ruan Fuxi's words lightened the previously heavy atmosphere, allowing everyone to relax a bit.
Suddenly, Lu Manyun asked, "Xiao Xi, you've read our fortunes; will you read your own? And what about that little rascal Xiao Xun?"
Ruan Fuxi paused for a moment at the question directed at herself before smiling and replying, "Mom, a healer cannot heal themselves. People like us shouldn't read our own fortunes."
She continued, "When Xiao Xun returns, I’ll read his fortune in front of him for greater accuracy."
Just as she finished speaking, an anxious voice came rushing in:
"Dad! Mom! I heard that Ge had an accident. How is he? Is it serious?"
Ruan Xun rushed in in a panic, not even having had time to remove his makeup.
Seeing him like this, Lu Manyun immediately reassured him, "Your brother is fine. Don't worry; your dad and I didn't tell you because we were afraid you'd be anxious. How did you find out?"
Ruan Xun looked at Ruan Huai, who was standing there perfectly fine, appearing healthier than ever, and finally felt relieved. He took a moment to catch his breath after running.
"I saw the news about an accident and immediately recognized it was my brother's car, so I rushed over without even thinking to call," he explained, still a bit breathless. Then he added, "I'm just glad you're okay, Brother."
His gaze shifted to Ruan Fuxi and Ruan Anmu nearby. He bit his lip, a flicker of hurt crossing his eyes. He turned away from Ruan Fuxi and called out to Ruan Anmu instead, "Sister Anmu."
Ruan Anmu seemed a bit taken aback and instinctively glanced at Ruan Fuxi before responding, "Xun."
It was evident to everyone that Ruan Xun was upset with Ruan Fuxi; she was no longer just his sister.
Lu Manyun sighed, puzzled by the situation between the two children. She said, "Xun, the reason your brother wasn't harmed in the accident today is thanks to the talisman that Fuxi gave him." She then recounted the entire story.
Ruan Xun listened in astonishment. Was this really the same Ruan Fuxi he knew? What talisman? What fortune-telling? It all sounded so fantastical.
He glanced at his brother, who nodded in acknowledgment. Ruan Xun pressed his lips together; if even his brother believed it, then perhaps it was true.
But what did it matter how impressive Ruan Fuxi was? She didn’t care for him and didn’t see him as her brother. No matter how skilled she claimed to be, it had nothing to do with him.
Stubbornly, Ruan Xun refused to look at Ruan Fuxi.
