Soon, the ambulance arrived.
Although Ruan Huai insisted that he was not injured in the accident, the medical staff still lifted him onto the stretcher. From the perspective of professional caregivers, someone who appeared lively and energetic after a car crash might actually be the one most seriously injured. This is because such patients often suffer from internal bleeding due to the impact, and their bodies release adrenaline to mask pain, causing them to show no signs of distress for a while. Before long, his family received the news and rushed to the hospital. On the way there, Ruan Jili and Lu Manyun were anxious and worried, fearing that their eldest son might be seriously injured. However, upon arriving at the hospital, they were surprised to see him standing outside the ward.
Ruan Jili furrowed his brow. "Why aren’t you lying in a hospital bed? Why didn’t you come to greet us at the door?" He instinctively thought that after a car accident, his son should be hospitalized for treatment.
Ruan Huai explained, "Dad, I’m not injured. Lying in a hospital bed would just waste medical resources."
At that moment, Lu Manyun had already reached him and scrutinized him closely. Seeing no visible injuries up close made her uneasy, so she asked anxiously, "What did the doctor say? Have you been examined?"
Ruan Huai reassured her, "All the tests have been done. I’m fine; we can leave now. You guys arrived too quickly; if you had come just one minute later, I would have already been discharged."
Upon hearing this, Lu Manyun blinked back her tears. "That’s good to hear. I’m so relieved. Knowing that your car was hit by a large vehicle nearly gave your dad and me a heart attack. By the way, wasn’t Assistant Zhang with you? How is he? Is he hurt?"
"Assistant Zhang was in the driver's seat; I hope he isn’t seriously injured."
Just as Zhang, the assistant, was mentioned, he appeared before them in an instant.
"President Ruan, I've completed the examination. The doctor said I'm fine and I can leave now."
Zhang still remembered the astonished expression on the doctor's face when he and President Ruan were being checked. After all, it was a miracle that they survived such a severe car accident, let alone that neither of them had even sustained minor injuries.

Zhang had been granted three days of paid leave and happily returned home.
Once Ruan Huaidao arrived back at the Ruan family home, he took the initiative to explain the entire situation regarding the accident before anyone could ask.
At that moment, Ruan Jili and Lu Manyun finally realized just how dangerous things had been.
"We should go to another hospital for a check-up; I'm not at ease," Lu Manyun expressed her concern.
Ruan Anmu also worried about her brother and chimed in, "Brother, why don't you try another hospital?"
Ruan Huaidao reassured them, "I'm really fine. In fact, I should thank Xiao Xi."
"Thank Xiao Xi?" Ruan Jili and Lu Manyun were puzzled as to why he would say that, but Ruan Huaidao turned seriously to Ruan Fuxi and said, "Xiao Xi, thanks to you giving me the talisman for safety, both Zhang and I came out unscathed. You saved my life and Zhang's."
Ruan Fuxi replied, "I'm just glad you're okay." Then she pouted slightly and added, "You didn't believe me this morning; good thing you took the talisman with you."
Ruan Huaidao's stern demeanor softened as he smiled gently for a rare moment. "I was wrong; I should have trusted Xiao Xi from the start."
As he spoke, Ruan Huaidao felt relieved. Although he hadn't initially believed Xiao Xi's warning about the impending disaster, he was grateful that he had taken the talisman with him after all.
Otherwise, today might end in either death or injury.
Then, Ruan Huai turned to another sister and smiled, saying, "Thank you for your concern, Xiao Mu."
