"Xixi, are you going to the antique street to buy something?"
Ruan Fuxi nodded. "Yes, just going to take a look."
Ruan Anmu became curious again. "But didn’t Big Brother freeze your card? Do you still have any money?"
At her words, Ruan Fuxi shot her a slightly resentful glance. "My dear little treasure, you really know how to hit where it hurts."
Feigning strength, Ruan Fuxi replied, "It's fine. I sold some things; it should be enough."
Ruan Anmu found her expression adorable and said with a grin, "But Mom and Dad transferred me some pocket money. If you don't have enough, you can use mine."
Hearing this, Ruan Fuxi decided to retract her earlier thoughts. "Wuwuwu, Mu Mu, you’re just too kind! How could I possibly take your money?"
Seeing her so excited, Ruan Anmu blinked. "No need to be polite; just let me know if you need more."
Once they arrived at the antique street, they couldn't drive in, so Ruan Fuxi instructed the driver to wait outside.
At the entrance of the antique street, there were many stalls set up. If someone didn’t know much about antiques, they could easily be swindled by the vendors with just a few words.
"Last week's items can be sold as if they were from the Shang and Zhou dynasties," Ruan Fuxi explained as she walked forward. "If you're lucky, you might even find some hidden gems."
It was Ruan Anmu's first time visiting the antique street, and her eyes sparkled with curiosity. After listening to Ruan Fuxi's introduction, she nodded repeatedly, feeling like she was gaining knowledge.
As they walked along, they came across two rows of shops lining the street. Most of the stores were dedicated to antiques, cultural artifacts, and jade.
Ruan Fuxi turned to Ruan Anmu beside her and asked, "Is there a shop you want to visit? We can check it out together."
Ruan Anmu's eyes sparkled with curiosity, but he focused on Ruan Fuxi first. "Aren't you looking for something to buy, Little Xi? You should get that first, and then we can browse leisurely."
Ruan Fuxi thought for a moment before proceeding. She stood outside one of the shops, glanced around, and chose one that exuded an authentic atmosphere before stepping inside.
The shop was called Linggu Zhai, and inside there was only an elderly man and a little girl. The girl sat quietly on a stool, appearing well-behaved to the point of being overly so. The elderly man looked to be around sixty. When he saw Ruan Fuxi and Ruan Anmu enter, he greeted them warmly.
"Feel free to look around. If you find something you like, just let me know. Be careful not to break anything."
It was common for curious young people to wander into the shop throughout the day, often driven by impulse or a lack of knowledge.
Ruan Fuxi wasn't there to buy antiques; she went straight to the point. "Boss, I’d like four taels of high-quality vermilion and two packs of yellow paper."
The shopkeeper was taken aback by her request. He approached Ruan Fuxi with a friendly tone. "May I ask what you need vermilion and yellow paper for? Are you planning to draw talismans? You’re quite young to be doing that!"
Ruan Fuxi replied confidently, "It’s for my own purposes."
The shopkeeper didn’t pry further and quickly fetched the items Ruan Fuxi requested. "Here you go, young friend. Are these satisfactory?"
Ruan Fuxi picked up the vermilion to examine it before flicking a piece of yellow paper with her fingers.
