Our turtle absolutely hates being called a "tortoise." If you want it to let go, try saying a few words to Grandpa Turtle; maybe it will be in a good mood and stop biting you.
Ruan Jiajia gritted her teeth but refused to speak. Ruan Fuxi must be teasing her; how could a tortoise possibly understand anything? She didn’t want Ruan Fuxi to see her make a fool of herself.
As Ruan Jiajia remained silent, the turtle kept biting her. She tried to pull her hand away, but it only bit down harder. The pain made Ruan Jiajia’s face pale slightly. She looked at the spot where she was bitten, blood trickling out, and for a moment forgot everything else, hesitantly muttering, “Grandpa Turtle?”
Ruan Fuxi laughed. “Speak louder; are you a mosquito buzzing around?”
Ruan Jiajia shot her an annoyed glance; Ruan Fuxi was clearly enjoying her predicament! The priority was to get this tortoise to let go.
So, she closed her eyes and shouted, “Grandpa Turtle! Grandpa Turtle! Grandpa Turtle!”
Ruan Fuxi laughed heartily. Once she had enough of it, she turned to the turtle and said, “Since she’s calling you grandpa now, let’s just let her go.”
At that moment, Ruan Jiajia felt the pressure on her hand ease and quickly pulled it away. Instinctively, she wanted to point at Ruan Fuxi and scold her, but the pain shot through her hand, causing her to retract it immediately. She certainly didn’t want to be bitten by that tortoise again.
Looking at the wound on her hand that was bleeding, she burst into tears. “Ruan Fuxi, you got me hurt! You owe me money!”
Ruan Fuxi rolled her eyes at her and then waved at the butler in the distance.
The butler handed over a silk handkerchief.
Seeing this, Ruan Jiajia thought it was meant for her to clean her wound and smugly said, "At least you know what's good for you."
Before she could finish her sentence, she saw Ruan Fuxi take the handkerchief and wipe the corner of the turtle's mouth, saying, "Good little turtle, don’t bite on any trash from now on. Don’t dirty your mouth, okay? There are germs."
Ruan Jiajia's expression instantly darkened. Ruan Fuxi was definitely humiliating her!
Once Ruan Fuxi finished wiping the turtle's mouth, she looked at Ruan Jiajia in surprise and asked, "Why are you still here?"
Ruan Jiajia felt like she was about to explode with anger! What was wrong with Ruan Fuxi today? She was even harder to deal with than before.
She knew she couldn't squeeze anything out of Ruan Fuxi anymore; she couldn't come here for nothing. It was just unbearable to see Ruan Fuxi so pleased with herself.
So, Ruan Jiajia turned her gaze to Ruan Anmu and said, "Anmu, I’m your cousin. Look at Ruan Fuxi—she’s so arrogant and vicious. She dares to treat me this way even though she’s not a daughter of the Ruan family anymore. You need to be careful; watch out for her stealing everything that belongs to you."
Ruan Jiajia wanted to make sure Ruan Fuxi didn't get too comfortable. As long as Ruan Anmu, the true daughter of the Ruan family, didn’t like Ruan Fuxi, she didn’t believe that her uncle and cousins would still treat Ruan Fuxi the same way as before.
After all, when there was a conflict between a biological daughter and a non-biological one, it was obvious which side her uncle would lean towards.
