Ruan Fuxi looked at her proud and stubborn younger brother beside her, and upon hearing his words, she didn't feel angry; instead, she smiled.
"Our Ah Xun must be too concerned about his sister, right? I'm so touched."
Ruan Xun instinctively wanted to retort, but when he saw the radiant smile on Ruan Fuxi's face, he opened his mouth but said nothing.
Strange, had Ruan Fuxi really changed her temperament? Even when he said that, she didn’t get angry.
Ruan Xun's eyes behind his sunglasses showed a hint of surprise. If she really had changed, that would be great. It would be even better if her brain could become a bit smarter too—she shouldn’t just think about men all day long and ignore their parents and older brother’s words. One day, if someone deceived her, she wouldn’t even know it.
However, thinking back to how Ruan Fuxi used to talk to him, Ruan Xun couldn't help but feel a bit wronged. He had grown up now; he was no longer that silly boy who just wanted to please his sister and earn her love.
Was it because Ruan Fuxi didn’t have the bloodline of the Ruan family that she never liked him as a brother?
Now he had millions of fans and was about to hold his own concert; he didn’t need Ruan Fuxi’s praise anymore.
As Ruan Xun thought this, the corners of his eyes hidden behind the sunglasses still turned slightly red.
Ruan Fuxi continued to smile and then reached out to pat Ruan Xun's head.
"Our Ah Xun is getting more and more handsome!"
Ruan Xun feigned anger like a startled large dog. "How can you mess up my hair? It's all disheveled now!"
Though he looked fierce, he didn’t pull away.
A glimmer of amusement flashed in Ruan Fuxi's eyes.
Ah Xun is now a big star; he needs to maintain his image. I won’t mess with him anymore.
After assessing him, she found her stubborn yet soft-hearted little brother easy to coax.
Then she turned serious as she addressed the rest of the Ruan family:
"Dad, Mom, Big Brother, I know my temper used to be quite bad. I've changed now; I promise I won't cause any more trouble."
Hearing her words, Ruan Jili and Lu Manyun felt a deep sense of relief in their hearts; their child had finally grown up.
However, she was also worried that her feelings of inferiority and sadness stemmed from not being the biological child of the Ruan family. So, she comforted her, saying, "Xiao Xi, don’t be too hard on yourself. Just be who you are, as you always have been."
Ruan Fu Xi felt touched but couldn't help but twitch her lips in response. She thought to herself that it was probably because they had spoiled her like this.
Ruan Ji Li was very pleased that he could keep both of his daughters in the Ruan family. He spoke up, "Xiao Xi, Mu Mu, you were born on the same day. If we count the days, your tenth birthday is coming up soon. We’ll throw a grand birthday party for both of you so everyone can see just how outstanding the daughters of the Ruan family are!"
Both Ruan Fu Xi and Ruan An Mu readily agreed.
This party would be a perfect opportunity to announce to everyone that Ruan An Mu, as the true daughter, had come to the Ruan family, and that Ruan Fu Xi had not been driven out as everyone had speculated; she was still a daughter of the Ruan family.
Next came the arrangements for Ruan An Mu's household registration and other matters. Her room had already been prepared, and she could move in today.
"Xiao Mu, you’ll be starting your third year soon, right? It’s a great time to enjoy your break in the capital. Xiao Xi knows all the best places to eat and have fun; you two should explore together. If you don’t feel like going out, just hang out at your brother’s company. There’s also your younger brother, but he’s been busy preparing for his concert lately and might not have much time."
Lu Man Yun looked at Ruan An Mu with affection and then introduced her to Ruan Huai and Ruan Xun. She wanted the children to develop a good relationship but knew it couldn’t be rushed; it had to happen gradually.
At this moment, Ruan Fu Xi piped up shyly, "Mom, I’ve run out of pocket money this month. Can you ask my brother to unfreeze my card?"
Not having money was indeed a problem!
