As soon as Qin Huairu entered, she began to question Wang Jiefang.
"I say, Qin Huairu, Xiaodang and Huaizhang are your daughters. They are missing, so what right do you have to come looking for me? I have nothing to do with them!"
Wang Jiefang was baffled by the accusation and retorted, "What do you mean you have nothing to do with them? Xiaodang and Huaizhang work for you! If they’re missing, who else should I ask but you? Wang Jiefang, I know our relationship hasn’t been great over the years, but you can’t let anything happen to Xiaodang and Huaizhang!"
Wang Jiefang couldn’t help but laugh at Qin Huairu’s unreasonable behavior. "I say, Qin Huairu, what do you think I am? Would I do something harmful?"
"If it wasn't for you, how could it be that neither Xiaodang nor Huaizhang has come home? I asked their colleagues, and they all said Xiaodang and Huaizhang haven't been to work for almost a month!"
Upon hearing that Xiaodang and Huaizhang hadn’t been to work for nearly a month, Wang Jiefang was also puzzled about where the two sisters had gone. He called over their supervisor.
When the supervisor heard Wang Jiefang asking about Xiaodang and Huaizhang, she hesitated slightly while looking at him. Seeing her indecisive expression only confirmed Qin Huairu's suspicions that Wang Jiefang was involved in their disappearance.
Wang Jiefang, feeling irritated, said to the supervisor, "What kind of expression is that? If you have something to say, just say it! I’m not going to eat you!"
The supervisor quickly spoke up, "Boss, Xiaodang and Huaizhang left with two men from the south twenty days ago. I heard they went south with them."
"What? That’s impossible! How could Xiaodang and Huaizhang do something like that?"
Qin Huairu didn’t believe the supervisor’s words at all. She looked at Wang Jiefang with suspicion. "Oh! I see now; she’s your person. You must have told her to say that! Xiaodang and Huaizhang must have been harmed by you!"
Seeing that Qin Huairu was becoming more unreasonable, Wang Jiefang lost his patience. "Qin Huairu, if you suspect that I harmed Xiaodang and Huaizhang, feel free to report me! I have things to do and no time for this!"
Thinking this was a sign of Wang Jiefang's guilt, Qin Huairu started throwing a tantrum in his office. Wang Jiefang didn’t indulge her; instead, he called security to throw her out!
Unexpectedly, Qin Huairu began causing a scene outside the restaurant.
"Everyone come look! This is outrageous! My two daughters worked here; now they’ve disappeared without a trace! The owner of this place is a beast who has harmed my daughters!"
Wang Jiefang didn’t bother arguing with her unreasonable outburst; he simply called the police to have them take Qin Huairu away.
The police took Qin Huairu's accusations seriously. They were aware that Wang Jiefang had connections, but today’s police still had principles and wouldn’t turn a blind eye just because someone had backing.
They began investigating the whereabouts of Xiaodang and Huaizhang. When they initially left, it was quite public; all their colleagues knew they were going with two bosses from the south to become wealthy wives.
Thus, it didn’t take long for the police to trace their movements. The surprising result was that Xiaodang and Huaizhang had indeed gone south with those men! However, those two weren’t wealthy; they were just small-time bosses running entertainment venues in the south. Xiaodang and Huaizhang had been deceived into going there and ended up working as hostesses in those establishments.
