"Don't say it, Yan Jiefang really guessed right. Silly Zhu truly has no idea about the current state of chefs. But he's not foolish; seeing that Yan Jiefang, this old miser, offered fifty yuan right off the bat, he knew there must be something fishy about it!
He opened his mouth and returned with a price he thought was impossible: 'Yan Jiefang, who do you look down on? With my skills, you only offer fifty yuan? Let me tell you, if it's not a hundred yuan, I'd rather lie at home!'
Yan Jiefang didn't expect Silly Zhu to be dissatisfied with fifty yuan. After all, Silly Zhu was the person he hoped to recruit now. He could only grit his teeth and bargain with him, ultimately settling on a price of eighty yuan a month.
On the surface, Yan Jiefang appeared pained by this price, but inside he was overjoyed. This fool Silly Zhu was easily satisfied with such a low amount; he truly had no vision!
'Silly Zhu, since you agreed, let's hurry to my restaurant!' Yan Jiefang was eager to get started.
However, Silly Zhu then said, 'No rush. I just got out; I need to rest for a couple of days before I start working for you!'
At this point, both Yan Jiefang and Yu Li were dumbfounded. 'If you're not in a hurry, we are! How much money are we going to lose in these two days?'
Yan Jiefang suddenly realized something was off. Silly Zhu must have been deliberately stalling him!
'I say, Silly Zhu, if you have any other requests, just say them outright. There's no need for us to beat around the bush!' Yan Jiefang tried to persuade him while suppressing his temper.
Silly Zhu chuckled at Yan Jiefang's words: 'Since you, Brother Yan, said so, I won't be polite then! You know I've just come out and have no money on hand. I want to receive a month's salary in advance. Next month, you can deduct it from my pay as repayment. How about that?'
Yan Jiefang thought for a moment; this way he wouldn't be at a loss either. To get Silly Zhu to come along quickly, he could only nod in agreement.
'Okay, can we leave now?' After agreeing to Silly Zhu's request, Yan Jiefang began urging him.
But Silly Zhu remained unmoved: 'Brother Yan, don't rush me! I have one more condition: you have to provide me with meals every day and let me take some food home after work!'
Seeing that Silly Zhu had endless demands, just as Yan Jiefang was about to explode in anger, Yu Li quickly held him back. She turned to Silly Zhu and said, 'Alright, I agree to those conditions. Now can we go?'
Yan Jiefang shot an unfriendly glance at Silly Zhu: 'Silly Zhu, don't push your luck! If you ask for anything else, just stay at home; we can't afford you!'
Silly Zhu had already received repeated promises from Yu Li and Yan Jiefang but still wanted to make more requests. However, seeing that Yan Jiefang was genuinely angry now, he decided to back off: 'Haha, I don't have any other requests. Didn't we say we were going to the restaurant? Let's go now!'
Seeing that Silly Zhu finally agreed to go with them, both Yan Jiefang and Yu Li breathed a sigh of relief!
Silly Zhu quickly followed the couple to their restaurant's entrance. Standing there looking around, he was soon captivated by a sign in the distance.
'Food as Immortals Restaurant?'
Silly Zhu murmured the name and then scoffed: 'What an extravagant name!'
Then he turned to Yan Jiefang with a teasing tone: 'I say Yan Jiefang, is this little restaurant yours? It's way too small!'"
