Master Li glanced around the room. "Wang, this room has an area of about fifteen square meters. Partitioning off a kitchen is absolutely no problem!"
"Is that all you need?" Seeing Wang Jiefang didn’t continue, Master Li asked again.
Wang Jiefang suddenly remembered, "Could you also help me connect the tap water to the kitchen?"
Master Li frowned at this request. "To change the water supply, you'll need to report to Director Wang first. Only after he approves can we connect it for you."
"Don't worry, I've already discussed this with Director Wang; I just forgot to mention it to you earlier!"
"Then if Director Wang agrees, we can proceed with the connection! Is there anything else you need?" Master Li asked once more.
"That's all. Master Li, how much will it cost for the labor and materials?"
Wang Jiefang had initially thought about adding a toilet, but then he reconsidered. Given the character of the people in the courtyard, their toilet would surely turn into a public restroom! It was better not to add one at all; if his grandmother had trouble using the toilet, they could just provide her with a chamber pot and take care of it when he or Sun Yuwei used the restroom.
"For labor and materials, it will be about three hundred yuan. The main cost comes from replacing the tiles," Master Li calculated briefly.
"Here’s two hundred yuan now; can I pay the remaining one hundred after completion? I hope you can start as soon as possible!" Wang Jiefang thought three hundred yuan was quite reasonable.
"Not a problem! You can count on me, Wang! I'll organize a team right away. Your work isn’t too much; I guarantee we’ll finish by the end of the day!" Master Li assured him confidently after receiving the payment.
True to his word, within three hours, he returned with eight workers and materials on a cart. By then, all the furniture from Wang Jiefang's house had already been moved into a tent by Yan's brothers!
Once they arrived, they immediately got to work.
Yan Bugui looked at the old tiles that had been removed and asked Wang Jiefang, "Xiao Wang, do you still need these tiles?"
"Uncle Yan, I won’t be using these tiles. If you need them, feel free to take them!" Wang Jiefang understood his intention right away. Since he had no plans to keep them anyway, it was better for Yan Bugui to take them off his hands.
"Thanks, Xiao Wang! Remember to move these tiles to our doorstep once you're done!" Yan Bugui called out to his sons who were helping.
Yan Jiecheng replied, "Dad, if we’re moving those tiles for you, then you can’t charge us any more money! Otherwise, we won’t do it!"
Yan Bugui’s face turned red with anger at his sons' bargaining: "You two little rascals have gone too far! If you won’t do it, I will!"
