When Wang Ren suggested they consider going to the countryside, they all shook their heads in refusal. They weren't naive; they knew how tough life was in the rural areas!
Having finished the necessary training, Wang Ren was about to head back to the street office when someone shouted her name. "Wang Ren, we’re not satisfied! Why is it that when we come to the street office looking for jobs, you say there are no suitable positions available, yet Wang Jiefang's wife can work at the street office?"
It was clear they believed favoritism was at play because Wang Jiefang worked there. "If you don't give us an explanation, we'll report this to higher authorities!"
Evidently, Wang Ren's authority did not intimidate them in the face of job opportunities.
Looking at the seven young men who had been beaten by Wang Jiefang, all demanding an explanation, she couldn’t be bothered to figure out who had shouted. To avoid further trouble, she explained, "I understand your concerns about Wang Jiefang's wife working here. As a representative of the street office, I can assure you that her position was earned fairly!"

With that, Wang Ren and Director Zhang left. They were busy and had no time to waste.
"I don’t believe that Wang Jiefang’s job has nothing to do with the street office!" one of them exclaimed.
"Exactly! Wang Jiefang is just a fool; how could he have done anything to deserve a reward from above?" another added.
"I don’t believe Wang Ren either. Everyone knows she used to visit Wang Jiefang’s grandmother frequently. Now that he works at the street office, she must be favoring him!"
"Wang Ren is so biased; I’ll report her sooner or later!"
Despite claiming they weren’t listening, some of them took those words to heart.
The seven young men who had been beaten by Wang Jiefang gathered together, fuming with anger.
On the other side, Liu Haizhong pulled out his belt and struck Liu Guangtian!
"Ouch! Dad, why are you hitting me again?" Liu Guangtian jumped up after being hit and shouted at Liu Haizhong.
"What’s wrong with me hitting you? Who told you to shout for Wang Ren? Do you think I want to be embarrassed?" Liu Haizhong said while continuing to hit him.
"Ouch! It hurts! Dad! It was Uncle Yi who told me to shout!" Liu Guangtian cried out in desperation while trying to seek help from Yi Zhonghai.
"If Uncle Yi told you to shout for Wang Ren, then do it! Who do you think you are? You little brat!" Yi Zhonghai retorted. "I’m your father; it’s only right for me to discipline you!"
After hearing Liu Haizhong's words, Yi Zhonghai snorted angrily and went home.
