"Alright, you eat the medicine I give you!"
Sha Zhu limped out of the treatment room, holding a prescription. He had to ask the doctor for a painkiller just to manage to walk out; otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to move at all!
When Yi Zhonghai saw Sha Zhu come out, he hurried over. "Zhuzi, how are you? Is your injury serious?"
"It's nothing major, just a bit swollen. A few days of rest and some medicine, and I'll be fine! By the way, Yi Da Ye, I need to ask you for a favor—I'm really unable to go to work right now!"
Seeing Yi Zhonghai waiting outside and showing concern for him made Sha Zhu feel quite touched.
What he didn't know was that when Yi Zhonghai heard his injury wasn't serious, a fleeting sense of regret crossed his mind. He thought that if Sha Zhu had been more seriously injured, he would have seized the opportunity to send Wang Xiazi away!
This was also why Wang Jiefang hadn't gone too hard on Sha Zhu; after all, this was a legal association now. If he publicly crippled Sha Zhu, he might end up in real trouble himself!
"Don't worry, I'll help you with your leave! Well then, Zhuzi, it's getting late; I’ll head off now."
"Yeah, you go to work, Yi Da Ye. I'll stay here and keep Qin Jie company for a bit!"
After Yi Zhonghai left, Sha Zhu first picked up his medicine from the pharmacy before slowly making his way to the ward where Bang Geng was.
When Qin Huairu saw Sha Zhu's awkward gait, she immediately knew he must be injured. Remembering why Sha Zhu had stormed off earlier, it became clear to her—Sha Zhu had definitely been taken advantage of!
"Hmph! What are you doing back here, Sha Zhu? Are you looking for another fight with Bang Geng?" Qin Huairu shot him a glare.
"Get lost! I don't want to see you here! And if you dare come near my mom again, I'll make sure you regret it!" Bang Geng added menacingly.
Sha Zhu wasn't angry at their words; instead, he approached Bang Geng with a sheepish smile. "Hey Bang Geng, Uncle Zhu kicking you was wrong. But didn’t we all get caught up in that blind guy's mess? Don't worry; I've already avenged you!"
"Do you think I'm an idiot? I know that Wang Xiazi is a different matter altogether! I don't care about any blind guy; all I know is that it was you who kicked me yesterday!" Bang Geng clearly wasn’t easily fooled.
Qin Huairu mocked him as well: "Sha Zhu, looking at you now, it seems like you've really suffered! You couldn't even beat a blind guy! And yet you still have the nerve to say you've avenged Bang Geng?"
Sha Zhu couldn't let Qin Jie look down on him. He puffed out his chest and started bragging: "Qin Jie, don’t think I’m like this because of that blind guy’s tricks. Just because he used underhanded tactics doesn’t mean I’m weak! I’m Sha Zhu! I nearly beat him half to death! Yeah, I broke several of his bones! Now Wang Jiefang is lying at home!"
Upon hearing that Wang Jiefang had several broken bones, Bang Geng's tone softened a bit: "Hmph! That blind guy deserved it! Once I'm better, I'm going to teach him a lesson too!"
Meanwhile, Sha Zhu began acting like a sycophant in the hospital for Qin Huairu. Back at the courtyard, as news spread of Sha Zhu being sent to the hospital, the crowd began to disperse.
After the commotion that morning, everyone in the courtyard realized that even though Wang Jiefang was blind now, it didn't mean he could be bullied easily! Sha Zhu was the best example of that!
In Yan Bugui's house, Yan Jiefang looked confusedly at his father: "Dad, why did you say Wang Jiefang should change his name?"
The others in the Yan family also turned their attention toward Yan Bugui.
A calculating glint flashed in Yan Bugui's eyes as he surveyed his curious family and said proudly: "You guys don’t understand anything! I'm just testing that Wang kid!"
