"Wait, what’s going on with you all? Aren’t you dizzy? Why are you pretending here?"
The group exchanged awkward glances, feeling a bit embarrassed. The reason they had feigned dizziness to sneak in was to avoid drawing attention, yet they had encountered such a violent individual. If they didn’t get up, wouldn’t they risk dislocating their jaws? If that were the case, they might as well get up and take their medicine themselves.
Lu Mingyuan was carefree, not foolish. Seeing how coordinated these people were, it was clear they were a group. He leaned in closer and lowered his voice, "What are you all here for?"
Qi Xiao waited for a long time and finally saw Bai Shu. The middle-aged man’s face darkened upon seeing him, as if he was suppressing an overwhelming rage. If he hadn’t been holding back, he might have killed Qi Xiao on the spot. Even so, his aura was so oppressive that Qi Xiao felt pinned to the ground, unable to move.
Qi Xiao forced a bitter smile and wiped the blood from his lips. "If you wanted to kill me, you could have just done it directly instead of using this method."
Bai Shu let out a cold laugh. "Kill you? Wouldn’t that just make it too easy for you?"
"What does that expert want to do to me?"
At the mention of this, Bai Shu’s expression darkened. If only he could decide things himself! Unfortunately, that scoundrel had interfered, not only taking this kid's life but also using Zeyuan's orders to pressure him—it was truly infuriating!
After some contemplation, Bai Shu finally calmed down. "I do want to kill you; however, you're lucky to have caught the eye of someone important."
Before Bai Shu could finish speaking, Elder Wang hurried in and shot him an annoyed glance. "Why say so much?" Turning his attention to Qi Xiao, he smiled slightly and then scanned him up and down with bright eyes, clearly pleased with what he saw. "Not bad, not bad! At this age and with this level of cultivation, you're quite the prospect. The master will surely be satisfied this time!"
"Come with me."
Bai Shu’s expression darkened at Wang's words as he watched Elder Wang lead Qi Xiao away. A flash of malice crossed his face as Qi Xiao paused mid-step.
Elder Wang's eyes glinted with malice. "What do you want?"
Qi Xiao paused for a moment. "Where are you taking me? And where is my senior brother?"
"You were the one who led me here last night, weren't you? Since I've come, can you let my senior brother go?"
At this, Elder Wang burst into laughter. "How naive you are! You come to the Bai family and think you're safe? You dare to negotiate with me?"
"Don't even think about it. Even if it were your senior brother, if I don't want to let him go, I won't."
Qi Xiao's expression turned cold. "Are you planning to break your word?"
"Break my word? Kid, I never promised you anything; you came here on your own."
Qi Xiao gritted his teeth in silence. Under the eaves, one must bow their head. He was in a den of wolves; words were useless here.
Indeed, only strength could determine everything!
If that’s the case, then I’ll just self-destruct right here!
Elder Wang narrowed his eyes, his expression darkening. "Are you threatening me?"

"I certainly don’t think so," Qi Xiao replied calmly, "but your actions don’t suggest that you want to kill me. So I suspect I still have some use for you, right? If I self-destruct now, that’s probably not the outcome you want to see."
Elder Wang stared at him for a moment, begrudgingly acknowledging the truth in his words.
"So what if that's the case?"
"Fine, if all you want is to see your senior brother, I'll take you to him!"
Elder Wang led him to the dungeon, where many were unconscious, except for He Jian and his two companions.
Seeing them, Qi Xiao's mind went blank for a moment; he couldn’t even spare a thought for Lu Mingyuan.
He rushed over to them. "Seniors, what happened?"
Wang Fu shook his head helplessly. "It's a long story. We originally planned to seek help from the Bai family, but who would have thought that the Bai family is the biggest den of wolves!"
"We've walked right into a trap!"
Wang Fu spoke vaguely, but Qi Xiao understood enough to feel disbelief. "Senior Wang, are you saying that the poisoner is from the Bai family?"
Wang Fu nodded resignedly. "Bai Shu is truly ruthless; he wanted to eliminate us on the spot! Look at Old Zhao—he was trying to protect us and ended up like this! My legs were crushed by him!"
"We thought we were done for, but at least there was someone outside who knew the root of our problems—there seemed to be some hope. Who knew you'd end up here too?"
Qi Xiao forced a bitter smile; he felt powerless as well. However, he had already informed Qingyang Peak. As long as he could buy enough time, not just one Bai family but even ten wouldn’t be enough to handle it!
In a moment, Qi Xiao found himself at a loss for words, only able to offer a few shallow words of comfort. However, his attempts only left the others feeling more helpless.
Lu Mingyuan coughed softly, slowly regaining consciousness. "Junior Brother Qi, what brings you here?"
Qi Xiao hurried over to check on him, finally letting out a sigh of relief. "Senior Brother, are you alright? They didn’t do anything to you, did they?"
Lu Mingyuan rubbed his face and replied, "I’m fine, but if I stay here any longer, I don’t know what might happen."
He then asked Qi Xiao how he had managed to get in. Upon learning that the Bai family had taken him hostage, his anger flared. "How shameless of them!"
He glanced at the guard not far away and tightened his grip on Qi Xiao’s hand, whispering, "You should stall for as long as you can. We’ll think of something."
"What? Haven't we come to an agreement?" Elder Wang's voice drifted in lazily, causing Lu Mingyuan to immediately fall silent.
A sharp gaze fell upon him, and Lu Mingyuan quickly lowered his head like a quail.
Fortunately, Elder Wang did not seem intent on punishing him.
Qi Xiao calmly positioned himself in front of Lu Mingyuan. "Elder Wang, you promised me."
Elder Wang withdrew his gaze and nodded. "Now that you've seen him, it's time for you to do your part."
Just moments ago, Elder Wang had made a request: if Qi Xiao could handle a certain task well, he would let both of them go free.
Qi Xiao could see that the other party was afraid he might self-destruct. Although Elder Wang's words sounded pleasant enough, Qi Xiao couldn't bring himself to trust him. Who knew if he would turn against them once they were no longer useful?
However, given the current situation, he had no choice but to comply.
Lu Mingyuan anxiously grasped his hand and called out softly, "Junior Brother."
Qi Xiao smiled reassuringly at him.
