This was during their journey through the Chaotic Nebula, when their foundation had suffered significant damage. Otherwise, with their original talents, entering the next level would have been a given.
Thinking of Lin Yao leading the Mingguang Team, a group even weaker than the research team, safely reaching Heici Star, while he himself had a starship and still suffered heavy casualties and injuries to his foundation before barely arriving at Heici Star, the stark contrast made Yao Zhengqi momentarily doubt whether his abilities were lacking.

The members of the Mingguang Team quickly received the news that they could join the exploration. However, the disappointing news was that only Yao Beiluo and Wang Jincheng could accompany the captain.
Lin Yao comforted them, "Your mecha skills still need improvement. Practice more, and when opportunities arise in the future, I will ensure that all of you get a chance to try."
Bai Zhenzhen pouted. "Captain, your words are more disheartening than comforting."
"It's a fact that your mecha skills are lacking," Lin Yao replied. "There’s no simulated space technology here; you can only practice on land until you master your mechas. Only then can I take you directly into real space combat."
This was undeniable, and Bai Zhenzhen had no rebuttal.
The special forces' first space exploration was about to begin, led by Tang Zhengsu. Lin Yao brought Yao Beiluo and Wang Jincheng along as they quickly ascended with the special forces. Just as they were about to break through the atmosphere, they activated the anti-gravity system.
They soon broke free from Heici Star's gravitational pull and reached space. Although there had been previous tests, everyone was still very excited during this actual attempt and joyfully celebrated over the communication channel.
Breaking through gravitational pull was just the first step; the more critical aspect was whether their mechas could withstand contact with the Chaotic Nebula without significant damage.
Tang Zhengsu piloted his mecha at the forefront and was the first to attempt contact with the Chaotic Nebula. He started with a light touch; seeing that there was no significant reaction from his mecha, he began to make broader contact.
Suddenly, alarms blared from various instruments in his mecha as it began to be affected by the chaotic magnetic fields of the nebula. It was clear that continuing further would not be advisable.
However, burdened with testing responsibilities, he naturally couldn't give up so easily. He instructed his two comrades to tie his mecha with ropes in preparation for another attempt at full entry.
Watching this unfold made Lin Yao feel uneasy. She signaled for Yao Beiluo and Wang Jincheng to keep their distance while she quickly approached.
"Captain Tang, let me give it a try," she suggested. Her biological mecha had been sent to the research team for repairs and study. Even though it wasn't perfectly restored due to incomplete materials, it was still far superior to the special forces' mechas from twenty years ago.
"You can't use your mech as a data reference," Tang Zhengsu directly rejected her.
Lin Yao felt helpless. The lack of materials on Black Porcelain Star meant that even if they had the technology for biological mechs, they couldn't convert the special forces' mechs into biological ones; they could only endure the situation.
As Tang Zhengsu's entire body entered without any mishap, he smoothly collected enough data.
"Should we delve a little deeper? I feel like the chaotic nebula near the outer edge of the planet isn't very active, and the data isn't standard," he said, still unsatisfied with the current data collection and seeking others' opinions.
"I think we should wrap up this test for now, make improvements, and then proceed to the next step," Lin Yao suggested.
"But our energy is limited. If we come back up next time, it will consume a lot of energy again."
"Don't worry too much about the energy issue; I have enough here."

Lin Yao couldn't persuade Tang Zhengsu and could only watch him venture deeper into the chaotic nebula.
As he gradually advanced, the rope connecting them remained taut and straight. He was just a few steps away from a dense mass of nebula when he instructed one of the soldiers to let go of the rope and connect another one so he could explore that mass.
The soldiers were used to following orders; despite knowing the dangers, they complied with his instructions.
Watching him get closer to that mass of nebula made Lin Yao's scalp tingle. This was her psychic warning ability, which she couldn't ignore.
"I'll go with you, Team Leader Tang," she said. "My biological mech may not serve as a reference, but being by your side is still a form of protection."
As she spoke, she retrieved a thicker rope from her system space and secured it around herself, letting Yao Beiluo and Wang Jincheng handle the other end.
With Lin Yao's entry, the nebula stirred; she dared not make large movements and could only inch forward carefully.
Tang Zhengsu waited for a moment. Seeing her progress slowly but surely, he could no longer wait and directly touched the nebula.
In that moment, the entire nebula was thrown into chaos, and the powerful suction force snapped the rope that held Tang Zhengsu. Just as she was about to be pulled into the nebula, Lin Yao hurriedly flew to his side and yanked him out.
It was in that instant that Lin Yao truly understood what an unordered magnetic field felt like. All her senses vanished, leaving only a desolate emptiness. She had heard the special forces mention before that in the chaotic nebula, the most terrifying aspect wasn't the chaotic magnetic fields, nor the swirling nebula itself, but rather the unordered magnetic field. At that time, she had not experienced it firsthand and couldn't grasp what they meant by a realm of utter void.
Now, she was experiencing it vividly. Even someone like her, who had struggled to survive on desolate planets for so long, found it utterly unbearable. The sensation was simply too horrifying.
After both of them had felt the unordered magnetic field and were pulled out of the chaotic nebula, it took a long time for them to regain their senses.
"I'm sorry; I was too reckless," Tang Zhengsu said as he came to his senses and immediately apologized.
Lin Yao waved her hand dismissively, weakly teasing him, "Well, you’ve gathered all the data on the most terrifying unordered magnetic field in the chaotic nebula. This will definitely be a huge help for our future starship research!"
