Without needing to see, just by listening to the descriptions, Lin Yao could sense the brutality that surrounded her. However, the boy who saved her looked so frail, yet he managed to survive in such a harsh competition; it seemed this "bastard" should not be underestimated.
"Did he steal your Moonlight Nan? I still need to confirm that with him. He will need three days of treatment. You can leave now, and after three days, we will discuss this matter again!"
The members of the Blue Wolf Gang were not particularly strong; they seemed to possess only fourth or fifth-level physical skills. Lin Yao found it hard to believe that such a team could cultivate something as precious as Moonlight Nan in a resource-scarce environment. After all, this Moonlight Nan had restored her body in a short time.
After speaking, Lin Yao released the vines that bound the others. The small minions complied obediently, but the leader still seemed unable to grasp the situation clearly. She decided to bind him up again, finding him too bothersome. "You guys carry him away."
Once they left, Lin Yao tidied up the dilapidated house a bit and then drank a restorative potion. She activated her wood-based abilities and continued to refine her healing process.
In the past, while she could use her spiritual form to adjust fractured or dislocated areas, it was not very precise. Now that her spiritual form had returned to her body, she could re-break and reconnect any misaligned or unhealed areas.
After spending more than two days on this, she not only healed her body but also used the power of Moonlight Nan to elevate her physical skills by one level. In a good mood, she pulled the healed boy out of the treatment pod.
The boy touched his fully restored body in surprise. "What is this? It's amazing! My injuries are healed just like that!"
"This is a treatment pod! I exchanged two medium-purity elemental crystals for it from the Galactic Alliance." Thinking ahead had paid off; she hadn’t expected it would be used first on this boy.
"Wow, I've never seen something like this!" The boy marveled as he circled around the treatment pod before finally sitting down.
Once he settled down, Lin Yao cheerfully extended her hand. "Let me introduce myself; my name is Lin Yao."
The boy didn’t understand her meaning and clumsily placed his hand in hers. Lin Yao didn’t mind and taught him that shaking hands was a form of greeting. "By the way, I still don’t know your name."
"I don’t know; I’ve been alone since I was little. But they all call me 'Bastard.'"
"Bastard? That’s not a nice name. How about I give you a new one?"
"Sure! That sounds great!"
"My surname is Lin, so you should follow my surname too. Let's call you Lin Jue."
"Lin Jue?"
"Yes, Jue is a type of jade, and jade is a precious stone."
"Lin Jue, Lin Jue, I have a name now! I am Lin Jue!" The boy exclaimed joyfully, bouncing up and down in place.
Lin Yao did not interrupt him; she simply smiled as she watched his excitement.
Once he calmed down, she began to ask about the Full Moon Nan. "Lin Jue, the Azure Wolf Gang said that the Full Moon Nan you brought was stolen from them. Is that true?"
"Yes." He replied nonchalantly. "They couldn't beat me; it's only natural they got robbed."
Recalling how he had been beaten up by the Azure Wolf Gang to the point of being unable to get up, Lin Yao remained cautious about his claim of invincibility.
Seeing her silent, Lin Jue thought she was upset and lowered his head, fiddling with the hem of his clothes. "Did I do something wrong?"
"No, you did it to help me by stealing the medicine. How could I blame you? Besides, you have your own rules to follow; just make sure you don't get hurt." Lin Yao comforted him by patting his head.
Hearing this, Lin Jue beamed with joy, his smile stretching from ear to ear. "Don't worry! I'm strong; this was just an accident."
Lin Yao nodded. "Regarding your conflict with the Azure Wolf Gang, I will handle it. If you have any opinions—whether it's revenge or teaching them a lesson—just let me know; I'll take care of it."
"I don't have a grudge against them," he replied.
The boy's clarity of thought was evident on his face; he genuinely felt there was no hatred between him and the Azure Wolf Gang.
Lin Yao understood his perspective. In his mind, all conflicts seemed to serve the purpose of survival needs. Once those needs were met after a conflict, there would be no so-called hatred left.
Since Lin Jue didn't care about any repercussions with the Azure Wolf Gang, Lin Yao felt less burdened.
After waiting for a while without seeing anyone from the Azure Wolf Gang approach, she decided to let Lin Jue lead her to their territory.
Once they stepped out of the dilapidated house, Lin Yao realized that this place was essentially a slum. Initially, she had looked down on Lin Jue's shabby home, but upon comparison, she found that it was relatively better than many others in the area; some were even more run-down.
However, as they continued on their way out, the houses gradually improved and the streets became cleaner.
"There it is—the Azure Wolf Gang," Lin Jue pointed to the best-looking block ahead.
Lin Yao nodded and was about to move forward when she saw the member of the Azure Wolf Gang, whom she had just questioned, stumbling out in a panic.
She stepped forward and blocked his path. "Aren't you from the Azure Wolf Gang? Where are you rushing off to?"
The gang member was startled and nearly slipped to his knees. When he recognized Lin Yao, he breathed a sigh of relief. "Ah, it's you, big shot!"
"Why are you in such a hurry?"
"The Azure Wolf Gang is being invaded by people from District 38. I'm going to get reinforcements."
"Invasion?" Lin Yao asked, confused.
At that moment, Lin Jue spoke up. "It must be that District 38 is running low on living resources and wants to come over to steal ours. No, we cannot let them take our living resources."
As he spoke, he hurried toward the direction of the Azure Wolf Gang.
Lin Yao couldn't stop him and quickly chased after him. Seeing that he was still hesitant, she pulled him back. "Aren't you going to get reinforcements?"
But the gang member didn’t move away; instead, he followed her closely. "Big shot, if you can take action, it would be more effective than any reinforcements."
"Then what will you offer me for my help?" Lin Yao stopped to negotiate.
"As long as you help the Azure Wolf Gang through this crisis, you can choose anything from our warehouse."
"Can you really do that?"
"Of course! In Black Porcelain Star, strength is paramount. If you take action, no one will be able to stop you."
As they arrived, they found that a battle had already begun between the Azure Wolf Gang and District 38. Everyone was armed with clubs and engaged in fierce combat.
Some were bruised all over, bloodied faces everywhere; some had fallen without knowing whether they were alive or dead.
The situation was dire. Lin Yao quickly scanned the area for Lin Jue's figure.
The gang members were also observing the chaos. After a moment, one of them tugged at Lin Yao's sleeve. "Big shot, our gang is fighting against the leader of District 38, Du Shan. Can you help us out?"
