Seeing his unwillingness to say more, Lin Yao chose not to press further. "I have some body recovery potions with me. You can drink them if you're injured; I still have plenty left."
"Just don’t be too generous outside, or you might get robbed in no time," she added.
"I know, I’ll only say this here," the boy replied, his face lighting up with joy. He then excitedly dashed out. "Wait for me! I’ll find something that will help you recover quickly!"
He ran off so fast that Lin Yao didn’t have time to stop him. Alone in the dilapidated house, she tried to continue her sleep, but anxiety kept her wide awake.
Time passed, and she waited without knowing how long it had been until finally, the boy returned, heavily injured. He clutched a small flower in one hand, blood spilling from his mouth as he said, "This is the Full Moon Nan. I heard it can heal injuries. You need to eat it right away; it will help you!"
Without hesitation, he crushed the flower and attempted to shove it into her mouth.
Lin Yao looked at the boy’s wounds, feeling a pang of sorrow. He was gravely injured himself yet chose to use the Full Moon Nan to help her instead of treating his own injuries.
Suddenly, loud noises erupted from outside the door, as if someone was chasing after the boy. Before she could get a clear look, her spirit was pulled away due to the rapid healing process taking place within her body.
When she awoke again, Lin Yao found herself lying beneath the boy's bed. At that moment, he was surrounded by a group of menacing figures, his injuries worse than before; he lay on the ground like a rag doll, his body twisted unnaturally.
"Quickly tell me where you got the Full Moon Nan! Hand it over!" shouted the leader of the group as he stomped on the boy's hand with malice.
"I already told you! I ate it!" The boy spoke through bloodied lips, his words slurred and unclear.
"Do you think I’m an idiot? If you ate something like that, your body wouldn’t be in this state! I’ll give you one last chance—hand over the Full Moon Nan!"
The boy simply turned his head away in silence.
"You’ve got guts!" The man’s fury intensified at the boy’s defiance as he raised his hand to strike.
In that critical moment, Lin Yao slid out from under the bed and charged forward, delivering a swift kick that knocked the man to the ground.
The others were startled by her sudden appearance; seeing their leader fall made them react quickly and rush to attack her.
Lin Yao unleashed a series of fluid moves that took down these thugs effortlessly. To prevent them from causing further trouble, she used wooden vines to bind them tightly.
The leader was still shouting angrily, "You little girl! Let me go! Do you even know who I am?"
Lin Yao didn't even glance at him as she crouched beside the boy, assessing his injuries.
It was severe: he had shattering fractures in all four limbs, a broken spine, and all his ribs were shattered, piercing into his internal organs. Despite the critical condition, as long as his heart remained unharmed, the boy was still conscious and even managed a smile when he saw her. "You’re awake?"
"Shut up, I'm going to treat your wounds."
Lin Yao took out a medical pod from her system space and carefully placed the boy inside before sealing the lid and activating the treatment.
The intruders watched in astonishment as she produced such a large medical pod, their eyes nearly popping out of their heads.
"You... you... you are..."
The leader stammered, unable to articulate his thoughts. Lin Yao impatiently stuffed a rag into his mouth and turned to the others. "I just arrived here not long ago. Who among you can tell me what's going on?"
The remaining people exchanged glances, none daring to speak first.
Lin Yao directly pulled out a row of syringes filled with medicine from her space. "These are high-grade nutritional supplements. Whoever speaks first will be rewarded!"
With a promise of a generous reward, courage surged among them.
As soon as her words fell, they all scrambled to respond.
Lin Yao picked someone who seemed more agreeable. "You, speak."
Others tried to interject, but she shot them a warning glare. "Don’t interrupt, or I’ll seal your mouths shut."
Instantly, they fell silent.
The person Lin Yao had pointed out immediately began to plead. "Boss, whatever you want to know, I’ll tell you everything."
"First, tell me why you were chasing this boy."
"Boss, this isn’t our fault. This Full Moon Nan tree has been nurtured by our Blue Wolf Gang for a long time; it was finally ready for harvest when this guy came charging in to steal it."
His tone didn’t sound like a lie, but Lin Yao still harbored some doubts about the truth of the situation.
"With so many of you in the Blue Wolf Gang, how could one little boy steal your treasure?"
"Boss, don’t you know? This kid is an abomination!"
"Abomination? What do you mean by that?"
A cursed being is still a cursed being. Unable to explain further, Lin Yao decided not to dwell on it and thought she would understand more later. Instead, she began to ask him about the situation on this planet.
"Did you just fall here?" she asked softly.
He nodded. Then he explained everything about the origins of this planet and its location.
The planet she was on was called Black Porcelain Star, situated in the Chaotic Nebula, seemingly at the center of a tornado-like formation. Due to a magnetic siphon in the Chaotic Nebula, when the planet rotates, the side facing the siphon experiences significantly increased gravity, forcing humans to relocate their habitats in accordance with the planet's rotation.
As the planet continued to spin, its surface became increasingly solid and porcelain-like, making it difficult for even metal to be easily manipulated, hence its name, Black Porcelain Star. The rotation speed of Black Porcelain Star was not fast; they did not need to move frequently, only needing to relocate their habitats once every six months.
The history of Black Porcelain Star was somewhat unclear. Since records began, the humans living there were primarily those who had fallen onto this planet from various origins. As they reproduced and more people arrived, the population on Black Porcelain Star grew steadily.
However, due to the planet's surface being unsuitable for agriculture and the scarcity of exotic beasts, survival resources could not meet the needs of all its inhabitants. This led to intense struggles for survival on Black Porcelain Star.
The inhabitants formed bases around their respective habitats, uniting with others in their area to confront rival settlements and compete for resources. As for the sources of these resources, part came from the planet's scarce natural reserves, while another part was delivered by a monthly magnetic tide from the Chaotic Nebula.
The magnetic tide would bring various materials to Black Porcelain Star—exotic plants, beasts, technological products, and even humans. Anything that existed in space could potentially appear on Black Porcelain Star.
When fortune favored them and the magnetic tide brought abundant resources sufficient for everyone on the planet, conflicts between settlements would lessen. Conversely, during lean times when resources were scarce, it was inevitable that some inhabitants would perish in order to maintain ecological balance.
