However, Lin Yao's movements were faster than his abilities. She launched a series of rapid kicks, and then with her legs scissoring around his neck, she flipped him over onto the ground.
Just as he was about to curse again, she unleashed a combination of punches right into his face. Finally, Lin Yao pressed her elbow against his neck and asked, "Are you convinced yet?"
"If you're not convinced, what does it mean to sneak attack?" Wang Jincheng retorted, straining his neck.
"Ha! With that slow reaction time, you should keep your mouth shut; otherwise, you'll be taken down sooner or later!" Lin Yao mocked him directly.
Wang Jincheng replied, "Since you’re not convinced, I don’t mind having a fair fight with you! If you lose this time, you’ll have to listen to my orders when we cross the river."
Upon hearing this, the onlookers, especially Zhou Heng, changed their expressions slightly.
Yao Beiluo remained calm, but the shift in her gaze was hard to conceal. "What if you lose?" Wang Jincheng quickly got up.
"Then it’s the other way around; I’ll follow your lead," Lin Yao said. "That seems fair enough. Zhou Heng and Yao Beiluo, you two remember to bear witness for me!"
Lin Yao appeared to have considerable strength, and the other two were eager to test her abilities. With someone taking the initiative, they readily agreed.
Zhou Heng added fuel to the fire, "Wang Jincheng, you must win! If you lose to a female classmate, you'll lose both face and reputation!"
"Just keep your eyes wide open," Wang Jincheng replied confidently.
With that said, he charged forward fiercely, raising his fist straight toward Lin Yao's face.
Lin Yao sidestepped and delivered an elbow strike to his ribs. The moment her elbow made contact with his body, she felt a jolt; it turned out Wang Jincheng had enveloped himself in lightning-based abilities.
"Finally showing some skill," Lin Yao smirked as she quickly wrapped her fists with vines and unleashed a flurry of punches aimed at his chin.
Wang Jincheng finally reacted and threw another punch in excitement. However, Lin Yao was even quicker; after a few exchanges of blows, when the wooden vines were shattered by the lightning strike, she swiftly retreated to create distance. As he pursued her, she activated the vines to trip him up.
In that moment of hesitation, she spun around and delivered several roundhouse kicks, especially the last one that sent him crashing down to the ground.
The moment he fell, Lin Yao pounced forward. What followed was a dazzling display of rapid ability application and the brutal aesthetics of combat.
Lin Yao unleashed her left fist, which instantly became entwined with vines. After a few punches, the vines shattered; she switched to her right fist, which immediately wrapped around more vines. The seamless connection between her movements and abilities flowed as if she had fought a thousand times before.
With a series of combination punches, Wang Jincheng was left dazed. When Lin Yao raised her fist in front of his face and asked if he surrendered, he couldn't even muster a response.
Seeing his silence, Lin Yao threw a few more punches and asked again, "Do you surrender?" After waiting for a moment without an answer, she prepared to strike again. Wang Jincheng struggled to speak, "I... I surrender!"
Upon hearing his concession, Lin Yao retracted her fist and helped him up. "You should have admitted defeat sooner; you wouldn't have had to endure those last few punches."
"Am I the one who refuses to concede? Clearly, your movements were just too fast," he muttered under his breath.
Pretending not to hear his meek complaint to spare his pride, Lin Yao's powerful combat skills were evident as she fought Wang Jincheng.
Yao Beiluo's expression was inscrutable, but the emotions leaking from his eyes—shock, doubt, speculation—revealed his inner turmoil. In contrast to Yao Beiluo's concealed feelings, Zhou Heng couldn't hide his emotions at all. Previously dismissive of Lin Yao, he now fell silent.
This was no ordinary girl; she was clearly a formidable weapon!
Lin Yao clapped her hands and returned to her seat as if the battle had not affected her at all. With great ease, she said, "Although today is about watching the iron flower show, I also want to discuss the issue of the giant python with everyone."
Without waiting for a response, she continued, "I heard that many of you have been stuck here for two or three days and probably don't want to linger any longer. So, I propose that we unite and cross the river tomorrow."

Lin Yao ignored him and directly addressed Yao Beiluo and Zhou Heng. "What do you two think?"
"Hey! Why are you ignoring me?" Wang Jincheng protested.
"You've lost; you don't get a say here!"
He wanted to retort but was met with Lin Yao's raised fist and suddenly found himself at a loss for words.
Yao Beiluo couldn't help but laugh and quickly covered his mouth with his fist, pretending to cough. "I wonder what Captain Lin's plans are?"
During my previous investigation by the river, I discovered that the giant python was likely lingering here because there was something in the riverbed that attracted it.
Zhou Heng immediately sat up in excitement. "Do you know what it is?"
"It's hard to say for sure at the moment. However, it should be some kind of plant-based treasure from nature, and it's almost ripe." Lin Yao revealed without holding back.
"Treasure from nature? Even high-level beasts covet that; it must be something valuable."
At this point, everyone present, including those watching, became excited as well. Who doesn't enjoy adventure and treasure hunting, especially the young and spirited?
Yao Beiluo couldn't hide his excitement either, but he was the first to regain his composure. He wondered what Captain Lin's plan was.
"I think we need to cross the river, and we must seize that treasure."
Lin Yao briefly outlined her plan: "Part of us will engage the giant python in battle to hold it back, while another group will go after the treasure. Once we secure the treasure, the python will surely go into a frenzy and chase after those who possess it. That will give everyone a chance to escape."
She paused for a moment before continuing, "At that point, those retrieving the treasure will be in danger. So we need several ability users who can simulate different scents in various locations to create false signals of the treasure, drawing the python's attention. This way, it will become confused and check each signal one by one, giving the treasure seekers a chance to flee."
This plan stirred a fervor among the young adventurers; they were eager to get started immediately.
However, there were always a few who thought critically and began to pick apart the plan's flaws.
"First of all," one voice interjected, "the ones tasked with holding back the giant python will be in grave danger. Even a sixth-level ability user might not be able to defeat such a powerful beast."
