As soon as Lin Xue returned to the dormitory, she recounted the earlier scene to her best friend, San Zhua.
"Stop messing around. I'm just thinking, how come I've never seen anyone with such long hair before?"
"Who are you talking about?"
"The girl who was showering with me earlier. Her hair was so long... if you didn't know better, you'd think she was a ghost."
"Have you lost your mind? It's still early; it's not even midnight yet! Don't scare away the spirits passing by!" San Zhua clasped her hands together and pretended to bow in all directions.
"You're such a fool!" Lin Xue laughed as she playfully pinned San Zhua down on the bed and tickled her, reminiscent of scenes from "Journey to the West."
The lights went out at ten-thirty, signaling lights out for the night.
The aunt's loud voice echoed in the hallway again, leaving them no choice but to go to sleep.
However, Lin Xue found it hard to settle down. She glanced at the empty bed across from her and remembered that their leader, Meng Yunsu, had gone to her cousin's place for better food and wouldn't be back until tomorrow.
Her thoughts drifted back to the girl in the bathroom. The floor-length hair, the hateful gaze, the pale skin—all of it sent shivers down her spine.
Who was she? Why had she never seen her before? She seemed to belong to this building, yet Lin Xue had never heard of anyone with such long hair. It was truly strange.
Suddenly, San Zhua's pillow thudded onto the floor again.
This girl really did sleep soundly.
The next day was Saturday, and there were no classes in the afternoon. Outside, the sky remained clear and sunny.
Meng Yunsu, Lin Xue, and Wu Sanzhua sat in the Elegant Cold Drink Hall, their Ice Cream already beginning to melt, yet none of them had taken more than a few bites.
After listening to Lin Xue recount her experiences from last night and in the past, a chill ran down everyone's spine.
Glancing at her two silent companions, Lin Xue could no longer contain herself; after all, she had nearly been scared out of her wits last night.
"What exactly happened? I saw her. It seems like no one else can see her—why am I the only one?"

"San Zhua, this is not something to be excited about."

"It's fine; perhaps what San Zhua said makes some sense." Lin Xue sipped her juice, her expression somewhat wistful.
"Something must have happened in that bathroom." Suddenly, Lin Xue recalled a Campus Legend she had heard in class.
"Once, I heard a girl in the back row mention something about that bathroom."

So Lin Xue shared everything she had heard.
"Strange, how come I've never heard of this before?" San Zhua said irritably. She prided herself on collecting all sorts of bizarre news and was frustrated to have overlooked such an important piece of information.
Yunsu rested her chin on her hand, a habitual gesture when she was deep in thought.
"Rape and murder? Suicide?"
"What are you mumbling about?" Yunsu frowned at her, disliking the way she rested her chin on her hand, a poor display for a lady.
"I suddenly remembered something. My cousin warned me when she was dropping me off at school to be careful while showering. She said the rain ledge by the door at the end of the corridor is easy to climb, and someone could sneak down the stairs from there. She advised against showering alone late at night, mentioning that the bathroom wasn't very clean."
"That's exactly what she said. At the time, I thought, 'Of course, my cousin is a police officer; she can spot safety hazards with just a glance.' But now that I think about it, the window on that rain ledge has bars installed. Perhaps she wanted to emphasize that someone had died in that bathroom, which is why she said it was unclean."
