Once again, a useless chapter!
What the...??
Chen Anlin felt a tightness in his chest. No way, no way! Yuxianzi has lived for over ten thousand years; how could she write something like this? The writing is just terrible.
Wu Xixue's eyes turned cold. "How bold of you to try to fool me with this."
Yang Dou had recently become addicted to reading novels and said earnestly, "Xiao Anzi, you really should take this more seriously. This is just poorly written."
Well, I suppose I can just skim through it.
"Skim through it?" Wu Xixue replied. "Look at this chapter! The female lead is being pressed against the wall by a bandit and is being rubbed against it. I can hardly bring myself to say it! And what's more, the male lead and the second male lead are fooling around together! A man liking another man??"
Hearing this, Yang Dou was furious. "What? The female lead is being rubbed against the wall by a bandit?"
Yang Dou's cheeks flushed as she looked at Chen Anlin. "Xiao Anzi, I didn't expect you to like this kind of thing."
Chen Anlin:
Alright, now there's no way to clear my name.
"It's not like that! Let me explain; it's mainly that I didn't design the plot well. Since you don't like it, I'll fix it."
Chen Anlin's explanation sounded somewhat feeble.
He felt speechless inside. He had given Yuxianzi the outline, yet she still managed to write such nonsense. Logically speaking, the longer someone lives, the better they should be at writing, right? Who would have thought Yuxianzi would produce such garbage?
"Alright then, I'll take charge of this mission," he said. "How about that?"
"As you command."
Chen Anlin had no choice but to nod in agreement.
After leaving there, Chen Anlin placed a sliver of his consciousness into the Spirit Storage Pearl.
As soon as he entered, he felt his nose crinkle in disgust.
While he was out there taking heat, Yuxianzi was comfortably lying there, sound asleep.
Yuxianzi, look at the mess you've made! Chen Anlin approached and kicked her lightly on the backside.
Yuxianzi was deep in slumber and woke up startled but didn't dare to get angry.
There was no way around it; Chen Anlin was now her benefactor, someone she couldn't afford to offend.
"What’s wrong?"
"What are you writing?"
Chen Anlin briefly explained the issue, "Didn’t I give you the outline before?"
"Uh, I felt that your outline wasn’t good, so I made some changes," Yu Xianzi replied earnestly.
"So the male lead and the second male lead end up together, while the female lead gets pinned against the wall and dealt with harshly?"
"Yeah, I don’t like the female lead," Yu Xianzi said.
After all that discussion, Yu Xianzi firmly believed that her writing was not at fault.
"Fine, I’ll deal with you tonight," Chen Anlin could only retreat from the space.
When he got home, he was surprised to see an unfamiliar carriage parked at the entrance.
"Young Master, you’re back! We have a guest at home—a young lady from out of town who says she knows you," the butler said as he hurried over to Chen Anlin.
"Oh? She knows me?"
"Yes, she’s the young lady from Wan Jian Mountain Villa, Li Xuexin," the butler replied.
"Uh, heh heh."
Chen Anlin chuckled; he had intended to seek her out but hadn’t expected her to come looking for him instead. What luck!
Upon entering the house, he saw his parents chatting happily with Li Xuexin. Judging by their cheerful expressions, they were clearly very pleased with her.
Especially his mother, Tie Lihua, who came over to Chen Anlin and whispered secretly, "I approve."
Chen Anlin was taken aback. "What do you mean you approve?"
Chen Anlin was puzzled and softly asked, "Mother, what are you talking about? This girl has come all the way here to visit us; it must be for you, right?
Cough, cough. Alright, I'll go ask her."
Li Xuexin wore a long dress in a delicate shade of yellow, her beautiful hair elegantly styled and adorned with exquisite hairpins, presenting herself as the epitome of a refined lady.
Seeing Chen Anlin approach, she wore an innocent expression, as if nothing had ever happened between them.
She certainly knows how to put on an act, Chen Anlin thought to himself. Li Xuexin always seemed to enjoy pretending; she clearly wanted something but would always insist she didn't.
"Miss Li," Chen Anlin greeted her.
"Young Master Chen, there are some matters I would like your help with," Li Xuexin said, casting an awkward glance at him.
Since their last parting, she had secretly vowed to keep her distance from Chen Anlin. But this time was different.
The Xiaoyao Sect and Lin Mountain Valley, two top-tier sects, had joined forces to target the Wanjian Villa.
Particularly among smaller sects and martial artists, rumors spread that Wanjian Villa had stolen two great treasures, prompting them to secretly conspire against it in an attempt to seize the treasures for themselves.
Now, Wanjian Villa was under immense pressure. A single misstep could lead to its ruin.
In her helplessness, Li Xuexin thought of Chen Anlin. With his royal connections, if he could lend his support, Wanjian Villa might safely weather this crisis.
She wasn't worried about whether Chen Anlin would help; after all, they had shared a bond before. Surely he would give her some face and assist her.
After chatting for a while, Chen Anlin invited Li Xuexin to stroll through his family's garden.
Moments later, in the garden, Li Xuexin broached the main topic.
In short, she hoped that Chen Anlin could leverage his connections and influence—perhaps even mobilize troops—to station around Wanjian Villa as a precautionary measure.
She even requested that he arrange for some skilled fighters to assist them.
