One day, under the bright sunshine in Ji Shan Tang, customers came and went as usual, while the attendants busily moved between the shelves of herbs.
Suddenly, a cacophony of footsteps shattered the tranquility. Zhao Fugui stormed into Ji Shan Tang, accompanied by a group of fierce-looking henchmen.
He wore a splendid brocade robe, but it seemed tainted by the ugliness of his heart, making it appear particularly garish.
Standing in the hall, he deliberately raised his voice, pointing at Su Ling and shouting hoarsely, "This woman is a witch! She must have used sorcery to bewitch Jun Yichen and stolen the secret formula of Ji Shan Tang, which has led to its current predicament."
His eyes were filled with malice and triumph, as if he were declaring himself the true master of this place.
The customers in Ji Shan Tang were taken aback by his words, pausing their activities and casting bewildered glances.
An elderly man holding a bag of herbs trembled slightly at the accusation, nearly dropping his precious cargo.
Several young women instinctively pulled their children close and stepped aside, their eyes filled with fear. The attendants exchanged glances, unsure of what to do, their tasks coming to a halt.
Su Ling felt a surge of anger within her; her eyes ignited with fury as her face flushed red.
Suppressing her rage, she stepped forward and fixed Zhao Fugui with a determined gaze. Her eyes seemed capable of piercing through his hypocritical facade to reach his filthy heart.
" Boss Zhao, do not slander me! All the knowledge I possess about herbs comes from my diligent studies in the mountains and seeking guidance from others. I have never laid my hands on Ji Shan Tang's secret formula," she declared.
Her voice was clear and resolute, echoing in the hall as she sought to awaken those misled by Zhao Fugui.
However, Zhao Fugui brought a large crowd with him, and they were making a ruckus in the hall.
Some of his subordinates deliberately knocked over a chair next to the medicine cabinet, creating a loud crash; others were shoving through the crowd, shouting slanderous remarks about Su Ling.
In an instant, Ji Shan Tang was in chaos, with disorder reigning supreme.
The once peaceful and harmonious medicine hall was now filled with an atmosphere of tension and fear.
Jun Yichen, seeing the situation, hurried out from the inner hall. His face was dark with anger, and his eyes revealed both fury and disdain towards Zhao Fugui.
He tried to calm the customers and staff, but with Zhao Fugui stirring up trouble, the situation became increasingly difficult to control. Ji Shan Tang's business was forced to halt, plunging into chaos as if a sudden storm had ravaged the once tranquil harbor.
Just as Ji Shan Tang was thrown into disarray by Zhao Fugui, the local bully Mr.Li caught wind of the commotion and arrived.
Mr.Li had a rather flamboyant appearance, with slicked-back hair shining with grease. He wore an extravagant yet gaudy brocade robe, adorned with an expensive jade pendant at his waist. He swaggered in, exuding arrogance.
Relying on his family's power in the city, he acted tyrannically and committed all sorts of misdeeds, instilling fear in the townsfolk who dared not voice their anger against him.
Upon seeing Su Ling, his beady eyes fixated on her, captivated by her beauty and poise. Instantly, he felt a possessive desire arise within him. He strutted into Ji Shan Tang with a group of followers, completely disregarding the chaotic scene inside.
As soon as he entered, he leered at Su Ling and said, “Little beauty, come with me. I promise to give you a life of luxury and wealth.”
His voice dripped with lewdness and arrogance, making one feel nauseated.
Su Ling glared at him with a face full of disgust, her eyes brimming with anger and defiance, as if to say, "You shameless scoundrel, don't harbor any delusions!"
She responded fearlessly, " Mr.Li, please conduct yourself properly. I will not go with you."
Seeing this, Jun Yichen stepped forward, standing tall like a sturdy pine tree, resolutely blocking Su Ling's path. His gaze was cold and authoritative as he reprimanded, " Mr.Li, this is Ji Shan Tang, not a place for you to run amok. I ask that you leave at once."
Mr.Li, furious and humiliated, had his already ugly face contort in rage.
He ordered his subordinates to wreak havoc within Ji Shan Tang. The thugs lunged at the medicine cabinets like ferocious wolves, toppling the neatly arranged shelves and scattering precious herbs everywhere. Some jars shattered upon impact, releasing their fragrant contents into the air, only to be marred by the chaos surrounding them.
The staff attempted to intervene but were met with brutal punches and kicks.
A young attendant tried to protect the cabinet but was knocked to the ground by a bully's kick, groaning in pain as he clutched his stomach.
Jun Yichen sought to stop the mayhem but was entangled by several henchmen, making it difficult for him to break free.
Su Ling was frantic; she searched for something to defend herself with and grabbed a wooden stick, swinging it at one of the thugs smashing the cabinet.
However, being a woman with limited strength, she managed to hit one but was quickly overpowered by others who seized the stick from her and cornered her against the wall.
In an instant, Ji Shan Tang was in disarray; once a place filled with vitality and hope, it now lay in ruins. Both Su Ling and Jun Yichen found themselves trapped in an unprecedented predicament.
