Upon hearing this, the two elders from Heavenly Dao Sect and Golden Sun Sect turned red with embarrassment and looked at Xuanjizi in shock.
"Xuanjizi, please don’t speak so harshly! This is all just a misunderstanding!" they stammered.
"We didn’t even realize you were friends from Imperial Academy!"
Xuanjizi snorted coldly. "Oh really? So does that mean if someone is from Imperial Academy, you won’t help them?"
Caught off guard by his retort, the two elders were left speechless and could only look at Xuanjizi with pleading eyes, hoping he would show some mercy. Hearing this, Chen Li's lips curled into a playful smile. His tone was light yet felt like a sharp thorn piercing Chen Ming's heart. "That certainly won't happen. And I hope you remember—if we find the Azure Dragon Sage's token first, don't come trying to claim credit for it."
Chen Ming reacted as if someone had stepped on his tail; his voice turned shrill. "What? You are also looking for the Azure Dragon Sage's token?"
He looked utterly incredulous as if he had heard the biggest joke ever.
Chen Li tilted his head back defiantly. "What's wrong? Is that not allowed? This Azure Dragon Mountain Range doesn't belong to your Holy Spirit Palace. We can go wherever we want and look for whatever we wish."
Although his true purpose for coming here was to rescue a loved one, he was more than happy to annoy Chen Ming since it aligned with the direction of the Azure Dragon Sage's legacy.
The forced smile on Chen Ming's face finally cracked. He glared fiercely at Chen Li and gritted his teeth. "Very well! Then this Young Master will see if you have what it takes to snatch away the Azure Dragon Sage's token! Just be careful not to lose your life in this mountain range!"
