Bloodshadow Man suddenly burst into laughter. He looked at Chen Li and nodded, "I'll give you a chance this time. If you dare to play any tricks, I will make sure you wish you were dead!"
Hearing this, Chen Li was overjoyed and quickly bowed in gratitude, "Thank you for sparing my life, senior! I will do my utmost to serve you!"

Bloodshadow Man grinned, revealing a set of gleaming white teeth that looked particularly sinister against his blood-red robe. He turned his gaze towards Shen Qingyue and the old man, leisurely asking, "What do you think should be done with them?"
As soon as Chen Li heard this, he hurriedly stepped forward like a lackey, rubbing his hands together with a beaming smile. "Senior, they are also here to pledge their loyalty to you, right?"
He shot a glance at the old man and Shen Qingyue, his eyes seemingly saying: Play along with me, got it?
Shen Qingyue felt a wave of nausea; the bloody scent emanating from Bloodshadow Man made her want to vomit. But to cooperate with Chen Li's plan, she forced herself to bow and say, "Senior, my brother is right; I will listen to him."
The old man, who had just narrowly escaped death, watched this scene unfold in complete shock. These siblings changed their demeanor faster than flipping a page in a book. Just moments ago, Chen Li had wanted nothing more than to kill Blood Fiend Sect members; now he was fawning over him like a sycophant.
What a world this is—truly something one rarely sees!
Bloodshadow Man scrutinized the old man with an icy gaze. "Old man, what is your name? Can't you hear what I say?"
Before the old man could respond, Chen Li quickly pulled him aside and whispered urgently, "Senior, if you want to save everyone, just follow my lead. Don't mess this up! Otherwise, we're all done for!"
The old man's face turned awkward; however, he knew he had no choice. He clasped his fists and bowed his head towards Bloodshadow Man, speaking in a trembling voice, "Replying to your honor, I am Yue Shan."
Bloodshadow Man nodded in satisfaction. "Good. At least you're sensible."
Chen Li finally breathed a sigh of relief and hurriedly complimented him further. "Senior, since we’ve cleared things up, let’s move quickly! Otherwise, those powerful Divine Soul cultivators I attracted will escape."
Upon hearing this, Bloodshadow Man's interest was piqued. "Oh? You really brought in quite a few goods? Lead the way!"
Chen Li felt a surge of joy inside but maintained an even more humble demeanor on the outside. "Please follow me!"
Thus, Chen Li led Bloodshadow Man along with the reluctantly included Shen Qingyue and Yue Shan out of the cave.
Along the way, Chen Li exhausted every effort to ingratiate himself with Bloodshadow Man. He boasted about how much he was favored by the Elders of the Academy one moment and embellished tales of the Imperial Academy's wealth and power the next. Bloodshadow Man's eyes sparkled with greed; he seemed eager to storm into the academy and seize all its resources.
Meanwhile, Shen Qingyue remained silent as she contemplated how to escape this predicament while Yue Shan silently prayed that Chen Li wouldn't drag them all into trouble as well.
As they neared the territory of the Blood Fiend Sect, the light outside grew brighter, signaling their imminent escape from the dark and damp domain. Yue Shan and Shen Qingyue felt a growing sense of unease, especially Shen Qingyue. While others might be oblivious, she was acutely aware of the situation. Where had they gathered information about powerful Divine Soul Cultivators? This mountain range was desolate, with not a soul in sight, and the Blood Fiend Sect had its grip on the area. When Bloodshadow Man asked them to lead the way, where exactly were they supposed to go? It felt like a one-way ticket to death.
Chen Li wore a fawning smile on his face, but inside he was plotting how to eliminate Bloodshadow Man without fail. Just then, Bloodshadow Man suddenly stopped. He turned sharply, his crimson eyes scanning Chen Li, Shen Qingyue, and Yue Shan like a venomous snake. A sinister smile crept across his lips as he said, "Kid, don't try to be clever; otherwise, I'll take you out first!"
Chen Li's smile faltered for a moment but quickly returned to normal. He waved his hands dismissively and replied in an even more obsequious tone, "Senior, what are you saying? I admire you greatly; how could I dare to play tricks on you? You are my idol!"
Bloodshadow Man sneered. "Is that so? In that case, I'll just destroy your dantian first. You have no objections, right?"
Before Chen Li could respond, Bloodshadow Man raised his hand, unleashing a thick wave of black Demonic Energy that pressed against Chen Li's dantian. The sudden turn of events caused Chen Li's expression to change slightly as he cursed inwardly: That cunning bastard! He actually wants to cripple my dantian! Does he think I'm made of clay?!
In a moment of desperation, Chen Li secretly transmitted a message to the Heavenly Guardian Beast: "Hedgehog, go! Prick him!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a small black ball rolled out from Chen Li's sleeve and rapidly expanded in mid-air, transforming into a spiky hedgehog in the blink of an eye. Its bristly fur stood on end like sharp silver needles glinting in the light as it shot toward Bloodshadow Man.
What is this thing?!
Bloodshadow Man clearly hadn't anticipated that Chen Li had such a trick up his sleeve. Caught off guard, he hastily struck out with his palm against the hedgehog. The sharp spikes pierced into his palm like steel needles.
The excruciating pain shot through his nerves instantly.
A mournful cry echoed through the air.
"You liar! You damn little bastard!"
"Ah! Senior, this has nothing to do with me! I didn't do anything!"
Chen Li suddenly stepped back, his face filled with innocence and terror, resembling a frightened little rabbit.
"If you don't believe me, go ask around. When have I, Chen Ming, ever deceived anyone?"
As soon as Chen Ming's words left his mouth, Shen Qingyue and Yue Shan, who had been keeping their distance from the Bloodshadow Man, couldn't help but glance at him.
Shen Qingyue's big eyes sparkled with shock. How could his cheap brother push the blame onto Scumbag Dad's son?
Seeing the hint of cunning in Chen Li's eyes, he immediately understood. Tsk tsk! The man's desire for revenge!
Yue Shan, on the other hand, looked completely bewildered. Who was Chen Ming? When did Chen Li change his name? How come he had never heard of it before?
The Bloodshadow Man clutched his bloodied hand, pricked by thorns, gritting his teeth in pain as he roared, "You little bastard! How dare you play tricks on me! That beast was released by you!"
Chen Li wore a look of grievance. "Senior, I swear on my conscience! How could I have that ability? I'm just a weakling who can't even tie a chicken. Do I look like someone who can control beasts?"
As he spoke, he deliberately puffed out his frail chest, presenting himself as if ready to be slaughtered.
The Bloodshadow Man was provoked by Chen Li's words and found himself believing him for a moment. Could it be that he had really wronged this kid?
