As night fell, the flickering flames illuminated the weary faces among the mountains. The disciples of the Two Major Sects and the Imperial Academy set up their camps, the atmosphere heavy and oppressive. In the camps of Heaven's Gate and Golden Sun Sect, cries of anguish echoed, with numerous injured but a lack of healing herbs. 0

"Damn beasts!" Cloud Sword Elder cursed through gritted teeth, clutching his chest, his face pale. Now that he had a moment to rest, he could assess his injuries. His chest had been wounded by a beast, flesh torn and bloodied, exposing bone beneath. As he examined his wounds, the severity of his injuries became even more apparent, accompanied by excruciating pain. 0

Inside the tent, the other disciples fared little better. Blazing Sun Elder from Cloud Sword Sect was in a similarly dire state. One of his arms hung limply at his side, clearly broken. 0

"Cloud Sword Brother, our two sects have suffered greatly, and we are short on medicine. What should we do?" Blazing Sun Elder furrowed his brow, worry etched across his face. 0

Cloud Sword Elder sighed and glanced toward the Imperial Academy's camp, a glimmer of hope flickering in his eyes. Lin Xuan and his group had escaped first with fewer injuries; perhaps they still had some supplies left. 0

"Go find someone from the Imperial Academy?" Blazing Sun Elder frowned, clutching his chest with one arm and grimacing in pain. "Cloud Sword Brother, have you lost your mind? We previously left them to die; it’s already fortunate they allowed us to camp here. Asking them for medicine would be asking for humiliation!" 0

Cloud Sword Elder understood this reasoning but was resolute when he looked at the injured around him. Since they allowed us to stay here, perhaps they would be willing to lend a hand. After all, we are borrowing; we can repay them double once we leave the mountains. 0

Hearing this, Blazing Sun Elder found it reasonable and nodded in agreement. "Alright, let’s give it a try." 0

Supporting each other, they staggered toward the Imperial Academy's camp, their pitiful appearance lacking any semblance of the dignity expected from Mystic Boundary experts. 0

Within the Imperial Academy's camp, a roaring bonfire dispelled some of the chill from the forest. Lin Xuan sat cross-legged by the fire, meditating with closed eyes when he suddenly felt two gazes land upon him. 0

He slowly opened his eyes to see Cloud Sword Elder and Blazing Sun Elder limping toward him. A cold glint flashed in Lin Xuan's eyes. These two were truly persistent; after having struck them when they were down before, they now dared to approach again? Surely they meant no good. 0

"Cloud Sword Elder, Blazing Sun Elder, what brings you here?" Lin Xuan observed the two with a wary expression. 0

The two elders felt their faces flush with embarrassment, but thinking of their injured disciples and the pain they were enduring, they steeled themselves and approached. 0

"Brother Lin Xuan, we were blind before and have offended you. We hope you can overlook our previous transgressions," Cloud Sword Elder said, stealing glances at Lin Xuan's expression, his tone dripping with humility. 0

"Yes, yes! Brother Lin Xuan, our disciples from both sects are severely injured and urgently need healing medicine. We wonder if the Imperial Academy could lend us a hand?" Blazing Sun Elder quickly added, his one arm trembling slightly from pain. 0

Lin Xuan looked at them with a half-smile, his heart filled with cold laughter. When he was attacked by the Holy Spirit Palace's people, these two had kept their distance. Now they were seeking his help? 0

"You two elders are joking. I can let go of the past, but I'm afraid the students won't agree. Although I am their mentor, I cannot force them to help," Lin Xuan replied coldly, refusing without hesitation. 0

Cloud Sword Elder and Blazing Sun Elder stood awkwardly in place, knowing that Lin Xuan was holding a grudge against them. 0

"Brother Lin Xuan, we were in the wrong before, but as you can see, our disciples are gravely injured. Without medicine, if we encounter another Beast Tide, we might suffer heavy losses," Cloud Sword Elder said earnestly. 0

"I know you're upset, but for the sake of our shared humanity, please help our disciples!" 0

Lin Xuan remained silent for a moment, feeling a slight softening in his heart. They were indeed part of the human race and should stand together against threats—especially since the Beast Tide could appear at any moment. 0

With this thought in mind, he softened his icy tone. "In that case, I'll ask." 0

Cloud Sword Elder and Blazing Sun Elder expressed their gratitude repeatedly. 0

Lin Xuan gathered all the students together and asked, "Does anyone have healing medicine? Would you be willing to lend it to the disciples of Heaven's Gate and Golden Sun Sect?" 0

Upon hearing this, the students fell silent. They exchanged glances but none dared to speak first. 0

After all, during the previous two Beast Tides, they had all sustained injuries and consumed much of their medicinal resources. Their remaining supplies were limited—especially the healing spirit stones; they hardly had any left. 0

In this perilous place where dangers lurked everywhere, who knew if another Beast Tide would strike? If they gave away their resources now, they would be left with nothing. 0

If danger arose again later on, there would be nowhere to cry for help! 0

The silence among the students made Cloud Sword Elder and Blazing Sun Elder's expressions grow grim. They had humiliated themselves to borrow medicine but ended up with nothing. 0

Finally, Cloud Sword Elder spoke up: "Dear friends, do any of you have extra healing spirit stones?" 0
Looking at the almost pleading expressions of Cloud Sword Elder and Blazing Sun Elder, many students from the Imperial Academy also showed a hint of reluctance. 0

One burly student scratched his head, looking troubled. "It's not that we don't want to help, but we had a confrontation with the people from Holy Spirit Palace earlier, and we've used up quite a bit of our supplies. We don't have much left." 0

"Yeah, if we encounter the Beast Tide again, we’ll be in trouble," other students chimed in, echoing his sentiments. 0

They truly did not want to lend out their medicine. 0

Lin Xuan furrowed his brows, scanning the crowd with a sigh in his heart. How could he not understand the thoughts of these students? If he were in their position, he would probably make the same choice. 0

However, Cloud Sword Elder and Blazing Sun Elder were right; if they turned a blind eye to this situation, the disciples from both factions would likely suffer losses here. In that case, the entire Imperial Academy would be implicated. 0

Just when he was at a loss for how to handle it, a youthful voice with a hint of cunning broke through: "Cloud Sword Elder, Blazing Sun Elder, if you really want to borrow medicine, that's not impossible. However, we have one condition. If you agree, we will gladly share everything we have!" 0

Chen Li's small face was serious as she pushed her way through her seniors and stepped to the front of the crowd, standing beside her mentor Lin Xuan. 0
