Chen Li and Shen Qingyue exchanged a glance, both silently understanding each other without saying a word, their innocent smiles revealing the essence of two naive children who had stumbled into danger and accidentally found a great treasure.
Lin Xuan looked at the two kids and shook his head helplessly. These little ones were full of clever ideas; in his many years of life, he had never encountered anyone so good at deceiving others. Listening to the cheers around them, Chen Li and Shen Qingyue quietly stepped aside.
"Brother, your expression just now was too convincing!" Shen Qingyue said to Chen Li, a hint of amusement breaking through her usually cold demeanor.
"I almost believed that a Fourth-Stage Beast really did die because of you!"
Chen Li raised an eyebrow proudly and whispered back, "Of course! You should know who your brother is—an award-winning actor! Do you understand?"
Shen Qingyue rolled her eyes at him and muttered softly, "I think you're just thick-skinned."
However, despite her words, Shen Qingyue couldn't help but admire Chen Li's cleverness in her heart. The two siblings had secretly collected the demon beast meat and were now able to share in the spoils; this operation was simply a windfall!
As she watched Lin Xuan directing the students in dividing up the Demon Beast Meat from a distance, she felt a twinge of sympathy for their esteemed instructor at the Imperial Academy. How could someone so respected be outsmarted by her crafty brother?
With that thought in mind, Shen Qingyue couldn’t resist stealing another glance at Chen Li. He was pretending to help other students carry the Demon Beast Meat, his face lit up with excitement and anticipation as if he truly craved the meat.
This acting would be thrilling if it were used against them! Shen Qingyue silently scoffed in her heart, casting a deep glance into the void above. She had been deceived and betrayed, nearly losing her soul in the process. Although she still had a long way to go before regaining her peak cultivation, one day, she would surely ascend to the upper realm and annihilate them!
The faint killing intent and resentment that Shen Qingyue unconsciously released immediately caught Chen Li's attention. He looked at her seriously and said earnestly, "Little girl, if there's anything you need, just tell me. I've got your back!"

As the sun set, the blood-red remnants of daylight painted the entire sky in an eerie crimson hue. The air was filled with a faint metallic scent of blood—the lingering aroma of the Vajra Earthshatter Ape's blood. While it was somewhat pungent, for the teachers of the Imperial Academy present, it symbolized victory.
Under Lin Xuan's command, the corpse of the Vajra Earthshatter Ape was quickly dismembered. The massive ape's head was collected by Lin Xuan; it was a top-tier material for crafting weapons and armor. The rest of its body was evenly distributed among all the students according to Chen Li and Shen Qingyue's suggestions.
Even this pair of naive siblings received their share, which turned out to be quite substantial.
"Here you go, little ones. This is what you deserve," Lin Xuan said with a smile as he handed two large pieces of Demon Beast Meat to Chen Li. "Remember to train hard and strive to break through to the fifth level of Innate Realm soon!"
Chen Li grinned as he accepted the Demon Beast Meat, not forgetting to flatter Lin Xuan: "Thank you, Lin Xuan! You're truly a hero among men with exceptional strength! My admiration for you flows like an endless river!"
"Alright, you little rascal, just know how to flatter!" Lin Xuan interrupted him with a mix of amusement and exasperation. This kid was quite clever, but he actually enjoyed the boy's spirited nature.
"Hehe," Chen Li scratched his head and pulled Shen Qingyue aside. "Let's find a quieter place to set up camp."
Lin Xuan observed the delighted students and spoke in a low voice as night fell and stars twinkled above.
The teachers of the Imperial Academy set up camp on an open grassy field. The roaring bonfire dispelled the chill of the night and illuminated everyone's faces.
The students sat around the campfire, roasting the fragrant Demon Beast Meat while discussing the thrilling encounters of the day.
"Do you really think that Vajra Earthshatter Ape killed itself?" one asked.
"Who knows? But Lin Xuan's strength is truly terrifying; he scared off that group from Holy Spirit Palace without breaking a sweat," another replied.
"At that moment, Lin Xuan was indeed the backbone of our Imperial Academy!"
Listening to the chatter around them, Chen Li and Shen Qingyue exchanged sly smiles, a glint of mischief in their eyes. They knew well that the Vajra Earthshatter Ape hadn't killed itself; it had been tricked into its demise by their joint efforts. However, they were smart enough not to reveal such details.
"What are you two little rascals whispering about?" Lin Xuan approached with a smile, looking curiously at them. Before coming here, Lin Tianxiao had specifically mentioned that these two were troublemakers with low cultivation levels, typical mischief-makers. Yet, Lin Xuan couldn't help but feel that they were not harbingers of bad luck but rather his good fortune. After all, who else could stumble upon a Fourth-Stage Beast without lifting a finger?
"Oh, it's nothing, nothing at all," Chen Li quickly waved her hands, her cheeks flushing as she avoided Lin Xuan's gaze. After all, she always felt guilty when lying.
"You little rascal, always up to something," Lin Xuan chuckled and shook his head, choosing not to press further.
"Lin Xuan, what brings you here?" Chen Li soon regained her composure and looked at him with curiosity.
"Just came to check on you," Lin Xuan replied. "You’re still young and your cultivation isn’t high yet. You should take the night off from keeping watch and rest well; we’ll need our strength for tomorrow’s journey deeper into Azure Wind Valley."
Hearing this, Chen Li and Shen Qingyue felt warmth in their hearts. "Thank you, Lin Xuan!"
Whoever said Lin Xuan was the strictest instructor in the academy? They certainly disagreed!
