The arrival of Lin Xuan was like a bucket of cold water poured over everyone at the Holy Spirit Palace, instantly extinguishing their previous greed.
Yue Shan's facial muscles twitched a few times as he struggled to suppress his anger, forcing a smile as he said, "Oh, it's Lin Xuan from the Imperial Academy. We were just joking around with them." As he spoke, he subtly signaled to his Junior Brothers behind him.
The disciples of the Holy Spirit Palace, though reluctant, obediently restrained their auras upon seeing this. After all, who was Lin Xuan? He was notorious for being fiercely protective of his own. If they truly provoked him, even with support from their backers, they would still suffer greatly!

"Yes, yes, you're right, Lin Xuan. We'll leave right away," Yue Shan replied with a bow and a smile, his earlier arrogance completely vanished.
Without their strong mentors by their side, they dared not resist at all.
As he spoke, he beckoned to his Junior Brothers, "Aren't you going to hurry up and collect the beast corpse? Let's go!" He raised his hand to grab the corpse of the Vajra Earthshatter Ape, preparing to take it away.
However, just as he was about to take advantage of the situation, Shen Qingyue, who had been silent until now, suddenly moved. She stepped forward and stood in front of Yue Shan and the others, her voice ringing clear as she said, "Lin Xuan! They’re trying to steal our academy’s treasure!"
At her words, the entire place fell silent in shock!
Yue Shan's face changed dramatically as he thought to himself that this was bad! If Lin Xuan intended to confront them over this matter, he might not be able to take anything away after all.
Realizing this, he shot a fierce glare at Shen Qingyue while suppressing his anger and forcing out a smile. "Junior Sister, you can eat whatever you want but don’t speak carelessly! When did we ever try to steal your academy’s treasures? Don’t slander us!"
"Exactly! Little girl, don’t talk nonsense!"
"We at the Holy Spirit Palace are an esteemed sect; how could we engage in such underhanded tactics?"
The other disciples of the Holy Spirit Palace chimed in, exclaiming, "Exactly! This is utter nonsense!" Each one spoke with righteous indignation, as if they were truly wronged.
However, Shen Qingyue remained unfazed. She pointed at the corpse of the Vajra Earthshatter Ape on the ground and said, "This Vajra Earthshatter Ape was killed by my brother and me. Now you all want to claim it for yourselves? Is this not robbery?"
Yue Shan's eyes darted around as he quickly reacted. "Sister, you really dare to say that! Just the two of you little sprouts managed to kill a fourth-tier Vajra Earthshatter Ape? Who would believe that?"
As he spoke, Yue Shan's gaze shifted to Lin Xuan, and he said in a deep voice, "Lin Xuan, do the students of the Imperial Academy intend to turn black into white and forcibly seize our spoils?"
Yue Shan's words were forceful and righteous, as if he had truly suffered great injustice. Chen Li and Shen Qingyue stared at him in disbelief.
What a drama queen!
Chen Li looked at their mentor Lin Xuan, whose expression had softened. He realized that if he didn't prove that the Vajra Earthshatter Ape was slain by them, their hard-earned prize would indeed be taken away by shameless people like those from the Holy Spirit Palace.
"Lin Xuan," Chen Li spoke up before Lin Xuan could say anything, "whether it's us or them speaking, it's all one-sided. Why don't you take a look at the Chasing Shadow Spirit Talisman and replay what happened before making a decision?"
"The Chasing Shadow Spirit Talisman?" Yue Shan's face immediately darkened as he couldn't help but ask, "Is it possible to replay past events with that Spirit Talisman?"
Chen Li chuckled coldly a couple of times and nodded. "Sorry, I bought one before leaving the academy because I thought it looked interesting. Turns out it's quite useful!"
With that, Chen Li proudly tossed the Spirit Talisman from his storage bag into the air. Instantly, images of everything that had just occurred began to materialize in the void.
Of course, Chen Li did not show how they had killed the Vajra Earthshatter Ape; instead, the images started from when they were about to collect their spoils after slaying it and when the people from the Holy Spirit Palace appeared.
Even though it was only those images, it became clear who was telling the truth and who was lying.
Yue Shan's face turned pale; he realized they could not take away the corpse of the Vajra Earthshatter Ape.
Lin Xuan's expression also darkened as he coldly stared at Yue Shan. "Yue Shan, do you have anything else to say?"
Yue Shan opened his mouth to explain but Lin Xuan did not give him any more chances. With a cold snort, Lin Xuan declared, "Since you have nothing to say, let's proceed according to the rules!"
With that, he waved his hand, and a powerful aura instantly enveloped Yue Shan and his companions.
"Ah!"
Yue Shan and the others let out a cry of despair, collapsing to their knees under Lin Xuan's overwhelming presence.
"Please spare us, Lin Xuan!" Yue Shan and the others finally felt fear creeping in.
"Hmph! Today is a lesson for you. Next time, I won't be so lenient. Now get lost!" Lin Xuan looked at the pleading crowd and ultimately decided to hold back.
After all, the Holy Spirit Palace was one of the Three Major Sects. Although there was some apprehension towards the Imperial Academy, their palace master was no less powerful than the Holy Emperor. Moreover, the Imperial Academy had always maintained a friendly relationship with the Three Major Forces. "Lin Xuan, it's like this," Chen Li cleared his throat and spoke in an air of mystery. "We stumbled into this situation by accident."
"Oh? What do you mean?" Lin Xuan's interest was piqued as he gestured for Chen Li to elaborate.
Chen Li pointed to a nearby hillside that appeared somewhat disheveled from the recent battle. With a serious expression, he said, "Shen Qingyue and I were just taking a walk and got lost. Then we came across this injured Vajra Earthshatter Ape, and we saw it crash into the cliff wall on its own. I suspect it was trying to commit suicide."
Lin Xuan regarded the two with a heavy gaze.
"Do you think I would believe your nonsense? A Fourth-Stage Beast that has developed some intelligence would willingly take its own life? Besides, with their tough hide and flesh, a Fourth-Stage Beast could easily withstand being struck against a rock wall. Do you take me for a fool?"
