Immediately, another Spirit Talisman flew in from a different direction and landed on his other side.
Boom!
The two Spirit Talismans exploded simultaneously, and the terrifying energy waves instantly swept through the entire room.
Duan Tianxiao felt as if an earthquake had struck; the bathtub split in two.
Before he could defend himself, a tremendous force sent him flying out.
The guards outside rushed into his room in an instant.
Duan Tianxiao, completely exposed, looked at the people entering the room and suddenly spat out a mouthful of blood, his eyes blazing with fury as his face turned crimson.
Damn it! Who dares to throw the Yin Ghost Talisman and Blazing Talisman into this elder's room?
At that moment, in the void outside the room, two small black shadows met in midair, revealing two pairs of bright eyes.
Yue'er?
Brother?
Chen Li and Shen Qingyue exchanged a knowing smile, their silence speaking volumes.
They resembled mischievous little foxes who had just pulled off a prank, playfully blinking before turning to dash back to Cold Blossom Hall.
Brother, do you think that old guy will be so angry he’ll die? Shen Qingyue's big watery eyes sparkled with mischief.
He won’t die from anger, but it will certainly be enough to drive him mad. Chen Li smirked, a hint of sarcasm in his tone.
The Yin Ghost Talisman and Blazing Talisman were gifts from their mother to help them turn the tables.
The Spirit Talismans crafted by powerful individuals possess immense strength and concealed energy, making them nearly impossible to defend against.
Unfortunately, given their current financial situation, their mother could only provide them with these basic ninth-grade Spirit Talismans.
They needed to grow taller and stronger quickly; then I’ll refine a high-grade Spirit Talisman to deal with him!
Shen Qingyue’s small face was cold, as if she still craved more mischief.
Chen Li chuckled: There will be plenty of opportunities in the future!
As they spoke, the two quietly returned to Cold Blossom Hall.
The dilapidated hall appeared even more eerie and terrifying under the moonlight.
A chilling wind swept through, producing a mournful sound as if countless wronged souls were weeping.
However, Chen Li and Shen Qingyue remained oblivious to these anomalies. One held the system in his hands, while the other was the reincarnation of the Empress. Such scenes had become commonplace for them.
Meanwhile, in Duan Tianxiao's room, chaos reigned. "Useless! A bunch of useless fools!" Duan Tianxiao shouted angrily, draped in a thin garment, his face dark with fury. "Investigate! Find out who did this!" Several guards knelt trembling on the ground, too afraid to breathe.
"Reporting to the Elder, we haven't found anything yet," one guard stammered.
"Useless! Good-for-nothings!" Duan Tianxiao kicked over a table in front of him, his anger boiling over. "Today, no one is allowed to speak a word about this outside; otherwise, there will be no mercy!"
"Yes! We obey!" the guards quickly replied.
Once everyone had retreated, Duan Tianxiao's expression softened slightly. He sat down in a chair, his gaze flickering as he looked toward Cold Blossom Hall, murmuring to himself, "Could it be those two Little Beasts?"
"Elder, that's impossible!" one of his trusted guards mustered the courage to say. "At night, Cold Blossom Hall is filled with Yin Ghosts. Even a Cultivator at the sixth level of the Innate Realm wouldn't have a peaceful night there. How could they possibly have a chance to come?"
Hearing this, Duan Tianxiao frowned slightly. He was well aware of the horrors of Cold Blossom Hall. Years ago, he had witnessed its devastation firsthand and decided to place those two Little Beasts there for their safety. However, with today's sudden events, he felt uneasy about claiming they had nothing to do with it.
"Send someone to check on them," a fierce glint flashed in Duan Tianxiao's eyes.
"Yes!"
In the stillness of the night at Cold Blossom Hall, Chen Li and Shen Qingyue sat cross-legged on their beds, each practicing their cultivation techniques. Suddenly, Chen Li opened his eyes wide, a cold glint flashing within them.
"Brother, what's wrong?" Shen Qingyue sensed something was off and quickly asked.
Without speaking, Chen Li made a shushing gesture and then rose to the window. Peering through the dilapidated glass, he saw several shadows stealthily approaching Cold Blossom Hall.
A cold smile crept across Chen Li's lips. It seemed that old man was still unwilling to give up.
Chen Li pointed outside, lowering his voice, but his tone was filled with mischief. "It's time to act."
Shen Qingyue followed Chen Li's gesture and quickly approached. Her small face turned icy, and a surge of energy seemed to ripple around her, ready for a fight.
"Don't rush," Chen Li said, grabbing Shen Qingyue and leaning in to whisper a few words in her ear.
After listening, Shen Qingyue's expression was one of confusion and surprise. She glanced at the sneaky shadows outside and then back at Chen Li, asking skeptically, "Is that really possible?"
Chen Li patted his chest confidently, grinning. "Trust me, it’ll be even more effective than your Yin Ghost Talisman!"
The night was deepening as several shadows stealthily made their way toward Cold Blossom Hall.
"Surely the elder is overthinking this. With just these two little beasts around, how much trouble could they cause?" one of them scoffed. "Besides, Cold Blossom Hall is so eerie; we haven't even gotten close and already feel the chill. Those two kids must be scared out of their wits!"
They whispered among themselves, their tones dripping with disdain.
Though called Cold Blossom Hall, it was merely two dilapidated shacks. Years of neglect had stripped Cold Blossom Hall of its former glory; now it stood as mere ruins, looking even more desolate under the night sky.
Inside the small house, darkness enveloped everything, and eerie sounds occasionally escaped from Chen Li and Shen Qingyue's deliberately suppressed screams.
"Don't come any closer! My mother is Shen Wanzhou! My grandfather is Shen Zhentian! If you come any closer, I won't hold back!"
"Help! Brother, I'm scared!" Shen Qingyue's voice trembled with a hint of tears, like a frightened little beast.
A few shadowy guards hid around the corner, peering inside under the faint moonlight. They saw two tiny figures huddled together in the corner, trembling in fear.
"Hah! I told you the elder was overthinking it. How could these two little things possibly cause any trouble?" One guard sneered dismissively.
With that, he confidently approached the small house to check on the situation.
Just then, the scene before him suddenly twisted. A ghostly figure appeared out of nowhere—a woman dressed in tattered clothing with a pale face and blood streaming from her seven orifices—coldly staring at him!
The ghost was emaciated, as if a gust of wind could blow her away; yet her eyes were terrifyingly large and pitch black, devoid of any light, fixating on him as if she intended to suck his soul away.
The guard was instantly paralyzed with fear; a chill shot up from his feet to the top of his head, making him shiver uncontrollably.
"A ghost!"
