Chen Li gently patted Shen Wanzhou's back, feeling a deep sense of happiness and contentment in his heart. He was willing to give everything for this family.
Time passed unknowingly, and soon it was the day for the academy. Shen Wanzhou had specially changed into a simple yet elegant blue dress, her face radiating an uncontainable joy. She carefully adjusted the collars of Chen Li and Shen Qingyue, her eyes filled with love and reluctance.
Before they knew it, the group arrived at the entrance of Qian Sheng Empire Academy. The Imperial Academy was situated atop a spiritual mountain outside the Imperial City, shrouded in mist from a distance, resembling a fairyland.
As they got closer, they realized that the academy was even more magnificent than they had imagined. The vermilion walls soared into the clouds, adorned with lifelike carvings of mythical beasts, exuding an ancient and mysterious aura. A towering archway rose majestically from the ground, its grandeur overwhelming, with the six characters "Qian Sheng Empire Academy" inscribed in a flowing script that sparkled like gold, as if proclaiming the academy's glory and honor.
Passing through the archway and entering the academy's main gate, they were greeted by pavilions and towers, rockeries and flowing water—an exquisite sight to behold. On either side of the wide bluestone path stood towering ancient trees, with spiritual energy palpable in the air. Students dressed in uniform academy attire came and went, their faces brimming with youthful vitality.
Wow! Is this really the Imperial Academy? It's so impressive! Shen Wanzhou couldn't help but exclaim, her beautiful eyes sparkling with excitement.
Indeed, it was worthy of being called the top academy in Tian Yuan Continent; its reputation was well-deserved!
Shen Zhentian looked at everything before him, filled with excitement as well. To be able to enter such an academy for cultivation was a dream come true for every child. "Come on, let's hurry up and register," Chen Li said eagerly as he pulled Shen Qingyue forward.
Shen Zhentian and Shen Wanzhou followed closely behind them, their faces full of curiosity and joy. They finally had the chance to experience the grandeur of the Imperial Academy alongside their children.
However, before they could reach the registration desk, they were stopped by two guards clad in silver armor.
"Stop! This is the Imperial Academy; no unauthorized personnel are allowed inside!" one of the guards said coldly while holding a spear.
"We're not unauthorized personnel; we're here to register for school!" Chen Li explained, pointing to his family behind him.
The guard looked them up and down with a hint of disdain flashing in his eyes. "The higher-ups have specifically instructed that no adults from the Shen Family are allowed inside. Just two little kids like you think you can intimidate me?"
He sneered as he scanned the Shen Family members: "Just them? They want to enter the Imperial Academy? They should take a good look at their own status!"
"What do you mean?" Shen Qingyue's delicate face suddenly fell.
The guard's smile grew even more smug.
"Nothing much, just take advantage of my good mood and get lost!"
Chen Li's expression also turned cold. He scanned the crowd around him. Many children his age were surrounded by groups of people, yet those silver-armored guards seemed to ignore them completely. It was clear that they were deliberately targeting the Shen Family!
Why can others enter while we cannot? Isn't your standard a bit too different?
Chen Li's voice was icy, his tone serious, devoid of any childishness. Anyone familiar with him knew he was genuinely angry.
"Little brat, do you even see who is coming and going? Each one is a prominent figure! The weakest among them has reached the rank of First-Class General. And you, a mere Third-Rank General from the Shen Family, dare to act so recklessly here? I don't have that much patience; if you don't leave now, I'll show no mercy!"
As he spoke, the guard's gaze turned cold, and a wave of Vital Energy began to surge around him, exuding a chilling aura that clearly indicated he was ready to strike.
Chen Li smiled, but his smile was filled with frost.
"Since the establishment of the Imperial Academy, when has it been determined by cultivation level who can enter? Hasn't your master taught you the rules?"
Chen Li's voice was not loud, but it carried an undeniable authority that drew the attention of many around them.
The guard was taken aback; he hadn't expected this six-year-old child to speak to him in such a tone, and he instantly flew into a rage.
"You little brat, you're asking for death!"
He roared as he shook his spear and prepared to thrust it at Chen Li.
"Stop!"
At that moment, a sharp voice rang out. Shen Qingyue flashed forward and stood protectively in front of Chen Li. Though she was young, her presence was no less imposing than that of the guard. Her big watery eyes were filled with fury, and her delicate face bore an icy expression.
"If you want to touch them, you'll have to go through me first!"
Shen Qingyue's tone was frigid as a powerful surge of Vital Energy erupted around her, matching the guard's intensity without losing ground.
The guard was taken aback by Shen Qingyue's imposing presence, momentarily frozen in place.
"What? Trying to bully the weak?" Chen Li sneered at the guard, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "You have brought shame to the Imperial Academy with your disgraceful behavior!"
"You are clearly targeting my family on purpose! I'll give you a chance—apologize to my grandfather, uncle, and mother right now, or today’s incident will not end well for you!"
Shen Qingyue stood beside Chen Li with a cold expression, glaring at the guard and echoing, "Apologize!"
As more and more people gathered around, whispering and pointing fingers, the guard initially stared blankly at Chen Li's words. Then, as if he had heard the biggest joke in the world, he burst into angry laughter.
"Hahaha, you? You dare speak to me like that? When I became a guard at the Imperial Academy, you were still playing in the mud!"
His Vital Energy surged violently, and the Spiritual Energy in the air began to gather around him, making him appear almost divine.
"Just you two little brats? Let me make this clear: if you can get through the gates of the Imperial Academy today, I will kneel and apologize to you! But if you can't—"
He deliberately elongated his words, his gaze filled with malice as it shifted toward the Shen Family. Finally, he landed his eyes on Shen Wanzhou, sizing her up with a lewd grin. "If you can't get in, then let your exquisite mother spend a night with me. How about that?"
"You’re asking for death!"
Chen Li's anger flared up instantly; it was the first time he had encountered someone daring enough to insult his mother like that. It was simply intolerable!
Without a second thought, he swung a fist directly at the guard.
"You little brat! You dare lay hands on me? You must be tired of living!"
The guard was momentarily stunned that Chen Li actually dared to strike him. But then rage took over; he immediately drew his spirit sword.
Clang!
The sound of the sword echoed as its blade shimmered with a cold light. The guard's aura clearly indicated he was ready to take action against the Shen Family.
