Outside the Beast Pen, an elegantly dressed old woman adorned with jewels and pearls approached slowly, surrounded by a throng of maids and servants. The grandeur of her presence starkly contrasted with the shabby Beast Pen. 0

This old woman was the maternal grandmother of Chen Yuantu, the Old Madam of the Wuding Marquisate, and she was the most disdainful person towards Shen Wanzhou in this household, aside from Chen Yuantu himself. 0

"Old Madam, they are just two wild children. Even if they are kept here in our residence, no matter how influential the Shen Family is, they pose no threat to the young master. Is it really necessary for you to make this trip?" an elderly maid whispered beside her. 0

Upon hearing this, the already sullen expression on Old Madam's face darkened further. She halted her steps and shot a cold glance at the speaking maid before huffing, "How can I be at ease about our Chen Family's future if I don't come to take a look?" 0

With that, she ignored the maid and continued forward. 0

As she reached the entrance of the Beast Pen and looked at the dilapidated wooden door before her, a flicker of disgust crossed Old Madam's eyes. 0

She took a step back and commanded her attendants, "Why aren't you opening the door yet?" 0

"Yes," the servant replied, not daring to delay as they hurried to push the door open. 0

However, the wooden door had long been neglected and was now rotting; despite their efforts, it wouldn’t budge. 0

"Useless!" Old Madam exclaimed in fury upon seeing this. "You can't even open a door! What good are you?!" 0

Seeing her anger rise, the elderly maid quickly stepped forward and gestured to two burly women nearby. "Hurry up and help!" 0

The two women understood immediately and rushed over to grasp the doorknob on either side, pushing with all their might. 0

With a creaking sound that pierced the air, the door finally began to open slowly. A wave of rancid, moldy air rushed out, causing Old Madam to instinctively cover her nose and step back. 0

"A bunch of useless fools! Get down on your stomachs and let Old Madam pass!" The elderly maid barked at the servants around them. 0

The servants quickly complied, one after another dropping to the ground. 0

Only then did Old Madam step onto their backs and slowly enter the courtyard of the Beast Pen. 0

Inside, Chen Li sat cross-legged on a pile of straw, facing his sister who mirrored his position not far away. He shook his head helplessly. 0

"I say, can you stop frowning all day? Anyone who doesn't know might think someone owes you money." 0

Shen Qingyue shot him a glance and huffed coldly, her delicate face clouded with frost. "What business is it of yours?" 0

This girl—at such a young age—why does she have to act so distant? Chen Li silently grumbled in his heart but made no effort to correct her demeanor. 0

After all, he believed what Shen Qingyue had said before—that she must be the genuine reincarnation of the Empress. 0

The two paused their conversation and turned to look at the front door, where a commotion was heard. Soon, Madam Chen appeared in their line of sight. 0

Although they were supposed to respectfully refer to Old Madam as "Grandmother," the sight of the trembling old woman treating the servants like doormats filled them with a sense of disgust. 0

Shen Qingyue lowered her voice, her already aloof expression growing even colder as she muttered, "What a good actress!" With that, she turned her face away, appearing even more distant. 0

Chen Li nodded, signaling her to remain silent while he quietly peered through the crack in the door. He saw Old Madam's face twisted in disdain and disgust, clearly uncomfortable with her surroundings. 0

Watching Old Madam enter, Chen Li couldn't help but sneer inwardly. This old woman pretended to be kind and benevolent, but behind the scenes, she had made life difficult for his mother on numerous occasions. 0

He vividly remembered one time when Shen Wanzhou accidentally broke a teacup and was punished by Old Madam to kneel for an entire day. There was another instance when Old Madam deliberately spoke ill of his mother in front of Chen Yuantu, leading to his mother being severely beaten and covered in bruises. 0

Not only that, but Old Madam often withheld his mother's necessities, forcing her to wear tattered clothes and eat leftovers. If it weren't for Grandfather and Uncles secretly providing support, the three of them might have already perished. 0

As Old Madam drew closer, Chen Li suddenly grinned mischievously, a sly look crossing his face. He leaned toward Shen Qingyue and whispered, "Do you want to help your mother get some revenge?" 0

Shen Qingyue, who had been lost in her disdain for Old Madam, perked up at Chen Li's words. Her big watery eyes blinked in surprise, excitement flickering within them as she eagerly asked, "How can we get revenge?" 0

Seeing Shen Qingyue transform from her aloof demeanor into an adorable little creature filled with curiosity made Chen Li chuckle inwardly. This girl was truly easy to please! 0

"Just watch me later!" Chen Li replied with a mysterious smile, a glint of mischief in his eyes. 0

Although Shen Qingyue didn't know what scheme Chen Li was concocting this time, after spending so much time together, she had come to understand her mischievous brother somewhat. Whenever Chen Li wore that innocent smile, it was certain he was up to no good. 0

She didn't ask much, just nodded lightly to indicate her understanding. At that moment, outside the door, the Old Madam huffed impatiently, her sharp voice piercing the air like an owl's hoot at night: "Someone! Throw these two little brats out!" It was truly uncouth of them not to come out and greet their elder! 0

As soon as she finished speaking, two burly guards strode menacingly toward the Beast Pen. Chen Li's lips curled into a sly smile as she whispered to Shen Qingyue, "Stick close to me; let's play a game." 0

Before Shen Qingyue could react, Chen Li grabbed her hand, and the two of them dashed out of the room like wild horses breaking free. 0

No one noticed that their small bodies were enveloped in a faint Vital Energy. Though they appeared weak, it wouldn't be easy for anyone to withstand a collision with them. 0

"Hey! Ancestors! Slow down! Don't run into the Old Madam!" 0

The maid beside the Old Madam was so startled that her soul nearly left her body; she quickly spread her arms to shield the Old Madam. 0

Chen Li and Shen Qingyue exchanged glances, then with a light push off their toes, they suddenly increased their momentum and crashed into the maid. 0

"Ouch!" 0

The maid had never expected these two little kids to possess such strength; they knocked her down hard onto the ground. Being older and frail, she couldn't withstand the impact at all. With a scream, she was sent flying like a round ball, landing heavily on the ground. 0

"Ouch! My old back is broken! It hurts so much!" 0

Lying on the ground, the maid wailed in pain, unable to get up for quite some time. 0
